For a lot of people, the dumpster is the least interesting place. So when they throw away their trash, they just dump it there and go on their way. After all, what could possibly end up in the dumpster other than trash?
Little did this Kansas man know that his piece of garbage would change an animal’s life
The day the man walked by and tossed his trash into a large receptacle was the day he saved the life of a really small puppy. When he opened the receptacle to take a look inside, he saw a really tiny and frightened puppy.
And just one look and he knew that the puppy’s life was in danger. It was so dirty and clearly underweight. It had open and oozing wounds in its tiny body.
Knowing the importance of urgent action, the man immediately took the puppy to the Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption. There, the rescue workers couldn’t believe what happened to the dog and where it had been found. Like the man, the rescue workers were clearly shaken.
There is absolutely NO EXCUSE to treat an animal this way and it absolutely disgusts us to think that someone could do this!- they said.
After checking the puppy and its condition, the staff estimated him to be around 2 months old. He was so young and fragile to be left alone like that. Due to how small he is, they decided to name him Minimus.
Despite his size, however, the puppy is a pretty strong fighter
He was a happy dog, too. He loves to be around people and he just enjoys getting dozens of snuggles and tons of affection. Despite everything he’s gone through, Minimus still radiates that positive energy.
As for his injuries, they won’t be easy to treat. Good thing that the rescue workers are willing to do everything they can to help Minimus survive.
He’s in stable condition but covered in open, puncture-like, oozing wounds throughout his tiny little body and we’re not quite sure what it is from. He will need to see a vet and be evaluated so we can get him whatever he needs to heal, but it might be costly. None the less we are going to give this little guy the chance he deserves!- the staff shared.
Recovering Minimus’ health and treating his wounds aren’t the only things that concern the rescue workers
For Minimus to be truly happy and completely safe, he needs a forever home and a family that will look after him for the rest of his life. He needs a family that won’t abandon him or leave him somewhere cold and dark.
Finding that kind of home for Minimus will be challenging but hopefully, he gets the home he deserves soon. While waiting for his forever family, Minimus is staying in a foster home where he is resting and recovering.
As for the person who left him in the dumpster, there’s still no information. Hopefully, the day he left Minimus in the receptacle is the last day of their encounter. Minimus, just like other animals, don’t deserve to be treated that way.
