Did you know that a person’s mood and emotions are contagious? It’s true. Good or bad, they have a direct impact on others. That means if someone’s sad they’re able to reflect their sadness onto another individual. The same goes for someone who’s happy.
Emotional Contagion (EC)
That’s the term professionals give this phenomenon. Simply put, it’s how one person’s emotions can transfer to another person. Studies show when imitating an individual’s expressions, there’s a trigger reaction within the brain that causes a specific feeling. For instance, someone laughs, you laugh, and ultimately, you feel happy.
Time for music class
When it comes to school, there’s not a single kid who doesn’t love attending music class. Teachers make this form of education fun and the children can’t get enough. A video that’s now garnered almost seven million views shows just how fun it is…thanks to one boy (blue shirt, front row).
Ready?
As soon as the teacher asks her class if they’re ready to start singing, this little boy is the first to answer with a big, happy, “yeah.” The other kids haven’t quite got into it. But again, thanks to this tot, they will…soon.
Upbeat tempo
We’re not sure the name of the song but it has a nice, upbeat tempo. You can hear the words, “clap your hands, clap your hands,” which the kids do. But that one boy in the blue shirt becomes overly enthusiastic.
Grinning from ear to ear
Do you remember the EC phenomenon we mentioned above? Just by watching this little boy smile, you find yourself smiling too. His happiness is infectious. Now, you can understand what those experts were talking about.
He steals the spotlight…
…although it wasn’t intentional. Not too far into the video, this kid becomes beyond excited. Suddenly, the music ends. It’s at that point, he lets out the biggest and cutest laugh you’ve ever heard. The other kids give him a quizzical look.
The music begins to play
On cue, the kids start to clap again. But as before, the music suddenly stops. This time, the boy’s laugh is even bigger. It’s so great that several of the other children let out giggles although they don’t compare.
Let’s go faster
Even the teacher can’t stop herself from laughing. Then, she asks the kids if they want the song to go faster. Once again, this boy is the first and only one to respond with “yes.” They’re all clapping just as fast as their little hands will go.
He loses it
Once the music stops, the boy in the blue shirt breaks out in hysterics. We have no clue why this tickles him so much but it does. And we’re really glad because we get to enjoy the most adorable laugh.
It’s contagious
At this point, the majority of the other students are laughing along with him. It doesn’t have much to do with the song or teacher, just the giggles coming out of this boy’s tiny body. He’s spreading it to everyone. What a precious video.
A remarkable day
The entire room is now laughing with the boy. And it’s no wonder. His laughter is 100 percent genuine, which makes it even better. The kid sitting next to him is having so much fun that he leans over to give his laughing friend a big hug.
This is probably one of the sweetest videos circulating the internet. One innocent child touched a lot of people that day. All because he wasn’t afraid to be himself and laugh at something that he found particularly funny.
