Oh noooo! To make matters worse, the driver then grabbed the pizza with his bare hands to put back in the box.

It’s Not Delivery, It’s DoorDash

DoorDash is known for it’s lightning fast food delivery service that seeks to accommodate those who prefer to skip out on cooking. It offers a wide selection of different food types like Asian, Italian, Mexican, American, and even food places akin to any local neighborhood spot.

This time around, a DoorDash delivery turned sour when one Dasher (or the delivery person as they call them) recklessly dropped a pizza on the porch of the intended customer. The only problem is that instead of reporting the issue to the customer and letting him know what just happened, he decided to just prop the box up and place the pizza back inside.

What you are about to see might leave a bad taste in your mouth

It all started on a normal day in Detroit, Michigan when Rodney King Jr. and his wife decided to order DoorDash instead of cooking their own meal.

“She didn’t feel like cooking, I didn’t feel like cooking, so we decided to order a pizza,” King said to the local news station.

It all seemed like another casual delivery until the driver approached the couple’s porch. Thanks to King’s security camera set up by the porch, he was able to see exactly what went down. He was disdainfully disappointed at what he witnessed right in front of his doorstep.

The driver approached and began to crouch down to place the pizza box on the mat, when suddenly, the pizza started spilling its way out of the box. This is obvious given that the driver had been holding the pizza box vertically, which is a mistake you don’t want to commit when carrying an entire pie.

The other mistake the driver made was to simultaneously attempt to push another random box of King’s into the doorstep vicinity. Why? There’s no real reason except he might have been trying to challenge himself with multi-tasking (and clearly horribly failed at it).

“When the guy was walking up to our porch, we saw that he was holding the pizza vertically, so from there I knew for a fact that the pizza was outside of the box.” King mentioned.

Regardless the driver made an even bigger mistake then flopping the pizza box

He didn’t’ say a word to Rodney. Instead of admitting the error in his ways, he kept the food foul all hush hush and simply walked away without looking back once. The driver tried to be a smooth criminal instead of an honest businessman and unfortunately cost him his DoorDash career.

Since the incident, DoorDash has reached out to King to apologize and notify him that the driver has been deactivated from DoorDash. King received a full refund and even a complimentary pizza delivered right to his doorstep.

“This inappropriate and unacceptable behavior is never tolerated on the DoorDash platform,”the company said in a statement. “The dasher involved was immediately deactivated, and we have been in touch with the customer and fully refunded the order. We sincerely regret that this incident fell short of the experience we strive to provide every day.”

Ordering delivery should always be a pleasant experience. We’re saddened that these things can occur, but at the same time, it’s good to know that there are measures one can take to combat this kind of insincerity and deviousness. King and his wife will no doubt be checking their camera to make sure their delivery gets placed correctly every single time from now on.
