Many people think that the increased popularity of cheese has a lot to do with the rise of pizza. Truth or not, we have to admit that cheese is one of the universally popular ingredients, especially because it can be used for cooking, baking, frying, sandwich-making, etc.

Do you know what else is equally famous? Lasagna. Pasta, cheese, and meat lovers will most certainly enjoy that dish, too. We bring you a recipe that is not quite lasagna, more like a lasagna with a twist. However, you’ll love this combination of cheese, potatoes, and meatloaf. It has proved to be quite a crowd-pleaser.

The recipe can be found on the Scrumdiddlyumptious YouTube channel, and it has been viewed more than 4 million times.

Scrumdiddlyumptious is known for sharing awesome recipes, and interesting cooking hacks. Most of us probably use loaf pans only for bread, but you’ll soon learn that it can be used for making a simple casserole in one.

It takes no effort and the result is more than pleasing. Getting hungry already?

First, preheat the oven to 375-degrees F, because the dish doesn’t take long to make, and you’ll want the oven to be ready.

Take 5 large potatoes, and peel them. Then cut them into thin slices.

Try and make them about 3 mm thin, you don’t want them to be too thin. Grab that loaf pan we’ve just mentioned, and rub some butter or oil all over it. You don’t want the food to stick to it, right?

It would be ideal if you had a 12×4 inches pan, but you can make it work out with a utensil of similar dimensions.

Now, line the bottom and sides of a pan with those potato slices, then cover them with cheese slices.

It can any cheese you like, the most important thing is to have a layer of potato slices, and then a layer of cheese over it.

Leave that aside for a bit, and prepare the meat. The procedure is standard: Add some oil to a pan, cook onion and garlic, then add the beef, and your favorite seasoning.

When the beef is almost ready, put diced tomatoes and spinach leaves in a pan.

The meat is now complete. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, and that’s it.

You can now grab a spoon, and fill the pan you’ve previously covered in potato and cheese. The combination already sounds amazing, right?

After you add the meat, the pan loaf should now have enough space in the middle for some layering to do.

Cover the beef with tomato slices, then add slices of cheese on top of it. Follow the same procedure “beef-tomato slices-cheese slices” until the pan is full. By then, you’ll run out of ingredients anyway.

In the end, put some potato slices on top, and your meal is ready to go to the oven.

Bake the lasagna-inspired casserole for about 70 minutes. The potatoes on top will get that beautiful crusty texture and a golden-brownish color.

Trust us, you’ll know when the dish is done. Let it cool just a little bit, and you can serve it with sour cream or anything you like.

In case you really want to impress everyone, garnish the dish with some parsley.

Parsley will give it a beautiful smell, and even better taste. Enjoy your meal.
