Little boy’s contagious laughter quickly spreads in music class

May 29th, 2020

Is there anything as sweet as an innocent child’s laughter?

There’s just no happiness as pure as a young person marvelling at something for the first time, or laughing uncontrollably.

This young boy in Levittown, New York was having too much fun in music class and just couldn’t contain himself! And his uncontrollable laughter quickly spread like wildfire throughout the classroom.

I challenge you to watch the video without cracking a smile yourself!

His teacher is playing an acoustic version of Clap Your Hands Together for the class. The kids are sitting on the floor with their legs crossed, absolutely mesmerized by the song. Many are clapping along, some are just staring at her in awe.

And this one little boy is just absolutely loving it.

He’s rocking back and forth with laughter, giving it his all with his enthusiastic clapping.

Every time around with the song the teacher tells them to speed up. He thinks it’s hilarious that he’s being asked to clap faster.

He’s already going as fast as he can!

That teacher must be absolutely gassed up by what a good job she’s doing. This is a very engaged audience. And he’s her number one fan!

The other kids in the kindergarten class start quickly catching the giggles.

Even the teacher is laughing along with them – probably a little confused about how this song is tickling so many funny bones, but loving their cute reactions.

She asks the class, “are you ready? Do you want to go faster?” And they absolutely do want to go faster, but I tell you right now they’re not at all ready.

Eventually the little guy can’t take it anymore and just keels over on the floor, cackling with laughter like you’ve never seen.

It’s as if there’s no funnier scene in the world than this kindergarten teacher with her guitar.

Saying laughter is contagious is no longer just a turn of phrase. It’s been proven by science!

“We’ve known for some time that when we are talking to someone, we often mirror their behavior, copying the words they use and mimicking their gestures. Now we’ve shown that the same appears to apply to laughter, too–at least at the level of the brain.” – Sophie Scott, neuroscientist at the University College London

The whole class is in stitches and can’t stop. And the little boy at the front has absolutely lost it.

His best friend sitting next to him can tell he’s losing it and leans over to hug him. Maybe to calm him down, maybe to thank him for a good laugh.

As legend has it, the boy never stopped. That little boy is still there to this day, clapping as fast as he can and laughing away.

The fact that the teacher was set up to record the little munchkin’s reactions says they (mostly our little guy in the blue with the big smile) have heard and loved the song before.

As they say, laughter is the best medicine. Then this must be one healthy class full of kids!
