If you’ve never heard of a “subtweet”, let me enlighten you. A subtweet is something that you say in public that attacks someone specific, but you don’t necessarily say their name. Still, everyone knows who you are talking about.
“a post that refers to a particular user without directly mentioning them, typically as a form of furtive mockery or criticism.”
While these examples below aren’t really subtweets, we would be naive to think that they didn’t know EXACTLY what they were doing when they did it! Most of them are just too plain funny!
These people knew what they were doing when they posted these!
Grandma knew from theyknew
1. Shortstack
Peter Dinklage was already famous when he was cast for Game of Thrones. Still, the calendar gives us serious Buddy the Elf vibes when he is asking if he is an elf in the movie!
2. A little dissapointing
Hopefully, this was just a coincidence, not a divine coincidence! Is it just me or does this seem more like an ex-relationship, not a spiritual one?
3. A bit heady
This one is TOUGH to get! Read it a few times, and if you still don’t get it, go ask a smart friend to explain it (like I did).
4. Always watching
Rumor has it that sales have been down since the church put up the sign to gain attendance. Talk about a guilty conscience!
He’s watching from theyknew
5. For the Spanish speakers
If you don’t speak Spanish, it’s probably a good thing you don’t get this one! It isn’t all that nice and may get you into trouble!
6. Hydrating
Did you know that Superman also has the powers of mass-hydration? Neither did we until we saw this photo. Also, I don’t think I would want to drink from that fountain if someone had a camera around me.
7. No collecting
Collecting balls from a golf course is a real privilege nowadays. I guess that’s what happened to William Wallace at the end of Braveheart when he was caught stealing golf balls from the British.
8. Not to scale
This is a rare crossover between Google Maps and Google Anatomy. It’s probably a crossover nobody expected, or truthfully, really wanted!
9. Unwanted souvenir
We aren’t sure if this is insinuating that this child was stolen, or that they don’t want to spread viruses. Either way, don’t steal children and don’t spread viruses.
10. Spider’s web
I always thought that Spiderman shot his webs through his hands, but I guess you learn something new every day. I guess it’s closer to how a spider really does things!
This tissue box… from theyknew
11. A lovely pair
Tits are a type of bird native to almost every state in the US. Here is a wonderful pair of them.
12. A sign of the times
This would be funnier if it wasn’t true enough to be scary. Sell the future for the now!
13. Running on natural gas
Longer. Larger. Fart. If that doesn’t say it all, what else does?
14. When in need…
This license plate clearly explains what to do when a disaster happens – EAT YOUR FAMILY. Only in Florida can something like this happen!
15. Honest packaging
This is truly honest packaging. Have a product that literally tastes like a rear-end? Market it!
16. Googly eyes
They HAD to know this happened when the graphic designers submitted the graphic! I literally laughed out loud when I saw how they did this poor woman so bad.
17. You are trash
If you like the newest Toy Story, you will know that a quote from Forky seems appropriate here:
“I Know What Your Problem Is: You’re Just Like Me. Trash!”
18. 5 Hearts, 4 Hearts
3 Farts, 2 Farts. Who knew Dr. Seuss was still alive and writing?
19. Stupid little thing
Dumb baby can’t even read or write her own name. What, she’s like 3 months old now? Get a move-on, freeloader.
20. Nice
Nice.
If you made it this far, you are either REALLY pure-minded or REALLY down for a good laugh. Regardless, we know that all these situations weren’t accidental, those people knew exactly what they were doing.
