Grandma’s dance moves are too cool for the internet
Never underestimate the powers of Grandma. Her moves light up the stands at a school sporting event.

Never underestimate Grandma, or grandparents, or anybody of any age at any time ever, for that matter.

The longer you live, the more you learn.

Ya know, Grandma’s seen it all. She’s had time to hone her craft, meditate on her mistakes, and ultimately sharpen her skills.

She’s a master dancer.

You read that right. This Grandma’s ferociously fleet-footed.

At what looks like an outdoor high school sporting event in the dead of winter, “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics occupies the airwaves.

Grandma’s response? Dance, naturally.

She breaks into a series of slick choreography, even pulling out “the robot.” I’m certain she’s a better dancer than practically every single person in the stands. She’s that good.

Seriously, she’s downright fantastic. Shame on anyone doubting her! Grandma’s got the stuff. She would eat me alive on the dance floor.

Continuing her flurry of precise maneuvers, Grandma kicks things into gear, smack dab in the stands. A few onlookers up a row check out the free performance. They can’t quite comprehend what they’re seeing.

Grandma’s pink beanie and peach coat add to her unsuspecting skills. The red pants and sleek sneakers tie the whole ensemble together.

Eurythmics continue their famous lyrics,

“Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I’ve traveled the world and the seven seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something”

Grandma’s just into the music.

She flares one leg out and points to the sky.

Grandma performs a tight twirl, stepping fluidly and perfectly in rhythm. She’s a natural. She moves like a twenty-year-old.

The song continues,

“Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused”

As the funk group Chic once famously stated, “My feet keep dancin’, dancin’.

Grandma doesn’t miss a beat, turning around again, kicking her legs out to each side. She’s deeply enjoying herself. Good for you, Grandma.

Her moves are truly too cool for school.

The game appears momentarily paused, giving Grandma center stage to showcase her talents. The music continues to play,

“Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I’ve traveled the world and the seven seas
Everybody’s lookin’ for something”

A quick camera pan reveals what appears to be a school hockey game happening below. The game’s been paused for a while, so Grandma’s dancing’s easily the most exciting thing happening. She could probably perform for everyone between periods. And maybe the halftime show at a football game.

A few fans pass by as Grandma wraps up her surprise dance. She ducks her head and prepares to dip out.

Sometimes ya just gotta dance. Given a great song, sufficient space, and an unsuspecting audience, Grandma had no choice but to bust out her moves.

And she definitely delivers. Nobody saw it coming, neither online nor in person.

Most people wouldn’t expect Grandma to be a master dancer. But they’d be wrong. Never sleep on Grandma. She’s seen it all.

She’s lived through wars, recessions, and now a global pandemic, all the while honing her dance skills. If that didn’t slow her down, nothing will.

She’s not stopping anytime soon. Even as the world falls apart, she can always get lost in the music.

Keep dancing and dancing, Grandma. We love it.
