While landscaping isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, most people enjoy having a backyard where they can relax and entertain. Whether due to a busy schedule, physical limitation, or some other reason, sometimes, yards become overgrown and unsightly.
A monumental task
Cleaning up a yard covered with weeds and piles of junk seems like an insurmountable project. That’s why some individuals contact a professional landscaping or lawn care company. Then again, others prefer to clear the area themselves.
More than weeds
One man’s backyard was covered with so much vegetation that it looked like a jungle. And we’re not just talking about weeds. Seriously…he could barely get down the deck stairs. The entire yard was a sea of green.
His plan
In looking at the backyard, no one could fathom how he was going to clean it up. But this man was determined. He had a vision that consisted of turning his overgrown yard into a beautiful, open space. Good grief, even his dog had a hard time getting through the vegetation.
A big mess
Almost every inch of the space was covered with greenery…and not the pretty kind. He had to carefully maneuver his way around just to go from one end of the backyard to the other. The other issue, there could be all kinds of dangers like snakes, rodents, poison ivy, and more.
The first step
Before this man could start to tackle the jungle, he had to first eliminate the junk. So, that’s where he started. He tossed out everything he didn’t want or need, as well as broken items.
Working around the deck
Working with his hands and various tools, he then started to clear away all the unwanted brush from around the deck. As you can imagine, that took some time. But when done, it’d be worth it.
Chopping down brush
With that finished, he focused on chopping down brush that covered the rest of the yard. It was so overgrown it had started to creep over the fence. The problem was he shared that with a neighbor who probably wasn’t very happy about the situation.
Light at the end of the tunnel
Finally, he could see dirt. Although he’d made significant progress, he wasn’t done. To complete the project, he’d have to keep pushing forward.
Larger than he remembered
With the project about 85 percent done, he was able to see his yard. Wow…with everything gone, it appeared much bigger than he’d remembered. Although there are still additional things he wants to accomplish, what he’s done so far is impressive.
