_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ __________________________ #dansetraditionnelle#dansezaouli#masquedecheznous#djela#djelalouzaouli#zaouli#masquegouro#masquetraditionnel#masquedecotedivoire#masqueculturel#dansetraditionnelle#masqueafricain#zrabisehifla#bouafle#zuenoula #kononfla#tebeïta#bazéré#manfla#sinfra#marahoué#cotedivoire🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮

It’s a famous traditional dance from the Ivory coast in Africa and it has been hailed as the Most Impossible Dance in the World.

According to Wikipedia:

Zaouli is a traditional dance of the Guro people (who speak the Guro language) of central Ivory Coast. The Zaouli mask, used in the dance, was created in the 1950s, reportedly inspired by a girl named “Djela Lou Zaouli””

There’s a lot of reasons why this dance style bagged this huge title.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _______________________________ #masquedecheznous#djela#djelalouzaouli#zaouli#masquegouro#masquetraditionnel#masquedecotedivoire#masqueculturel#dansetraditionnelle#masqueafricain#zuenoula#bouafle#kononfla#tebeïta#bazéré#manfla

The dancer needs to wear a mask and colorful costumes while performing this breathtaking dance.

The moment the performer puts on the mask, you will immediately see the changes with his moves. The dancer will make very quick steps and it should be accompanied by hand motions.

It is a “representation of the spirit taking over the dancer’s body”.

Usually, it’s being performed during celebrations and funerals. In each community on the Ivory Coast, there’s a Zaouli dancer.

Another interesting thing about Zaouli

According to Star Quest Dance, women should be absent while Zaouli is being performed. Aside from that, it’s only allowed to be seen by those people who are permitted to watch.

Clearly, this cultural dance is not easy to do. It requires fast dance steps and it should follow the rhythm of the music.

It surely takes hard work and long-time practice to achieve this perfect performance.

In one video on YouTube, many people aired their thoughts about Zaouli being the most impossible dance in the world.

One commenter even described how beautiful it is to watch.

“Rough but delicate feet movements at the same time looks like he’s flying and running on that floor. Beautiful!”

Another one couldn’t believe how the dancer was doing it.

“How can he separate the upper and lower parts of the body in movement is insane.”

“The amount of energy and physical stamina required to keep that pace up must be exhausting,” another YouTuber wrote.

While looking for more videos online, I bumped into this YouTube video compilation of TikTok clips. And you know what? Some TikTok users tried doing Zaouli and even posted them on the said platform.

It’s just proof that this dance is popular for a reason- it’s more challenging than even the toughest of twerks.

It’s also amazing to know that even though there are lots of modern dances that we see nowadays, there are some people who still enjoy dancing cultural dances like Zaouli.

Well, isn’t it fun to try doing the most impossible dance in the world?
