Penny sold everything she didn’t need and moved south from chilly Alaska to…

Penny is a 77 year old woman who lives on her own. She originally lived in a much larger home in Alaska and decided to sell many of her belongings for a different kind of life further south.

Her choice led her to this gorgeous tiny home built in Newport, Oregon. It may not look like much on the outside, but it’s packed in with everything that a single elderly woman could ever want to live her best life. Including a fully functional shower.

The first room has one of her favorite chairs and is designed to be a bright sunny spot for…

Take this living room that you’ll see as soon you enter the front door. The large recliner chair is one of her favorite belongings and has been with her for many parts of her life. She even said that where she goes, it goes.

But notice how the windows are well positioned so she gets plenty of bright natural sunlight during the brightest parts of the day. The windows were designed to open out to keep out moisture and rain during the more severe weather seasons.

The kitchen comes with everything you could need and is perfect for a woman who loves to…

Moving on past the living room, you’ll come to the kitchen. On one side of the room is a deep sink for cleaning and a shelf for Penny’s favorite bowls and plates so she doesn’t have to mess with the cabinets too much.

The oven is also well-positioned with a large range hood to suck up the heat, scents, and steam and keep it out the home. Don’t forget to check out the convenient location for Penny’s best cooking knives. This is perfect for a woman who loves baking pies.

This bathroom is bright, sunny, and is a great affordable option for…

Moving past the kitchen, you’ll see the bathroom. Now Penny doesn’t live off the grid, so it has a fully capable septic and water system for the toilet, sink, and bath.

Penny likes having natural sunlight in her home. So instead of a bathroom window drape, she had a lovely stained glass window installed to add color to the room, and maintain her privacy.

One of the coziest rooms is…

Furthest back is Penny’s bedroom, which was built with a divider for privacy. She admits she doesn’t use it often since she lives alone, but likes having the option in case she has visitors and family coming over.

You might think that the window was designed for comfort, but she admits that it was built for a different reason. Apparently, Oregon demands that homes be built with escape homes in case of fire or disaster. Most likely she’d want a smaller window to match the windows elsewhere in her home. Perhaps even something in stained glass.

Check out the stairway to…

Finally, check out these steps leading up to the loft. The rails were designed for sturdiness and safety and made with a distinguished black look. Beneath the stairs are shelves, perfect for shoes and other items.

The loft above is built with crawling room only and could be used for storage. But Penny likes the idea that the space is ideal as a pet home, complete with pet treadmill to stay fit on rainier days and nights.

And best of all, this home could be for sale

This feature complete home might have everything that Penny wants, but she admits that she wouldn’t mind selling it. She could always pick up and move to another home. Would you want to live in a home like this?
