People can have a complicated relationship with their hair. Some change it, switching up the length and color on a regular basis. Others spend years growing their hair out. But having extremely long hair can be a pain. Not only is it heavy and difficult to maintain, but it can also put a lot of strain on the neck and back. That’s why Karen from Minnesota decided it was time for a change. So, she turned to the one and only Makeover Guy.
“There’s long hair all over my house that I don’t need. It’s gotta go. It’s too heavy.”
Her waist-length hair was beautiful, with a deep brown shade and ripples that suggested she might have some natural curl — if it wasn’t weighed down so much.
Karen decided never to cut her hair again after a traumatic experience when she was in the first grade.
During that time, her mother gave her a pixie cut. Karen hated it so much that she refused to cut her hair for more than half a century. But finally, at the age of 63, she knew it had gone on for too long.
Luckily, she was in the hands of an expert.
The Makeover Guy turned her long hair into a shoulder-length stylish bob that was full of bounce and movement. And Karen loved it. When she first saw her reflection, she could only stutter for a few moments.
“Oh, fabulous,” she said. “Sexy. Over-the-top gorgeous. Movie star. Ready to hit the road runnin’. And it’s my own curl! It’s exactly what I wanted.”
Christopher Hopkins — the Makeover Guy— had shaped Karen’s long locks and given them a vibrant bounce.
She also got a face-framing fringe and shoulder-length cut that made her look both mature and refreshed. With her hair falling softly around her face, she looked as glamorous as she felt.
For Karen, the makeover was a huge relief. Not only did she look completely different, but she also felt lighter than she had in years. After five decades of having long hair, she was finally free with a brand new look.
When Karen’s husband and daughter walked in, they couldn’t believe their eyes.
Her husband almost couldn’t believe it was her. But they both thought she looked amazing.
“You look awesome,” said Karen’s daughter. “I don’t feel like I’m looking at my mom, but you look great.”
Her words brought tears to Karen’s eyes – she gave her daughter a tight hug.
She was all smiles as she showed off her new ‘do, spinning in the chair and beaming from ear to ear. There was no doubt that she felt like a million bucks with her transformation.
It’s amazing to see the effect that Karen’s makeover had on her. At first, she seemed sweet and shy. With her new look, she was brimming with happiness and confidence. It all goes to show what a simple haircut can do.
