For those with long hair, the thought of chopping it off might be enough to cause the sweats. But not for 41-year-old Kerry Grundhoefer – who was ready to ditch her long, wavy locks and instead embrace a short pixie style that was natural gray.
In order to make her dramatic transformation come true, Kerry decided to visit celebrity stylist Christopher Hopkins at his salon in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It’s an unbelievable reveal that’s left many jaws on the ground.
Who needs long hair? Kerry sure doesn’t.
Like many other women, Kerry’s held onto her long tresses for quite some time. Although it may look gorgeous from an outside point of view, there were some issues that she was getting tired of dealing with.
She explained:
“It’s time – it’s an accumulation of a long time processing my hair and it’s fairly gray under there.”
Kerry’s desire to chop it all off may seem like a bold move.
In our society, long hair can be viewed as a symbol of beauty, sexiness, and femininity – and a lot of women who grow theirs wouldn’t dream of parting with it. However, it’s not the only feature that makes a woman beautiful.
As the Makeover Guy points out, “confidence is very sexy.” Kerry herself was feeling very confident in her decision that she wanted to let her hair go. Instead of trying to cover up the gray, she was ready to rock it.
Kerry told Christopher:
“That’s the fun thing about hair it’s like fashion. I enjoy it, I have fun with it. But there’s a point where even if the gray wasn’t an issue I would want something anyway. It’s just way past time.”
Any dramatic haircut needs a dramatic scissor chop. Christopher didn’t disappoint!
In the video, the Makeover Guy lifts Kerry’s ponytail into the air. Then, drumroll please…makes one huge cut. What a freeing feeling that must have been for Kerry.
Her new look is finally revealed.
Christopher gave Kerry a pixie-style cut in her natural silver color. Even without the long mane, Kerry is absolutely stunning, and if anything – it’s a look that accentuates her other features and makes her even more gorgeous.
In an article about ladies who cut off their hair, Elite Daily explains:
“Short hair exposes the most seductive part of a woman’s body: her neck. And once we get a glimpse of her neck, our eyes work their way down to her clavicle…Short hair exposes and highlights the physique of a woman — in a way long hair simply can’t.”
She got exactly what she was hoping for.
What’s most important is that Kerry loved her new short hairstyle! She tells the camera, “I can’t even tell you how good it feels.” No longer having to deal with damaged hair, or having to try and hide gray roots, would be life-changing indeed.
Even Kerry’s husband thought she looked fantastic.
