Vargsången

This soothing video is Jinton’s interpretation of a well known Swedish lullaby, “Vargsången,” which translates into English as, “The Wolf Song.” The song is written by beloved Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, and was featured in the movie based on Lindgren’s book, “Ronia, the Robber’s Daughter.”

The song has been in Jinton’s life since she was a child, and it’s haunting vocals still affect her as an adult.

“For a long time now I wanted to make my own version of it, and make some small changes in the melody.”

The original version can be heard on youtube.

The Wolf Song

Vargsången is a lullaby sung by a mother who hears a wolf howling at night. She knows the wolf is hungry and hunting for food. She tells the wolf that he will never take her child.

In the video, Jinton shows a real wolf on the prowl through a snowy landscape. Seeing a wolf up close and personal is not something you see every day. They are truly majestic creatures and in this video, you can see detail in their eyes.

The beautiful video for her version of the song was filmed around her village, in the county of Västernorrland.

Jinton captures such striking imagery involving fire, ice, starry skies, and wolves. It is no wonder that Jinton is getting so well known around the world, her filmmaking skills are on point and her eye for beauty is in full effect with this video.

The night skies in this remote part of Sweden are absolutely spectacular.

The sky has more white stars than dark space, as light pollution is at a minimum. Making for an awe-inspiring look into outer space. You’ll also catch a glimpse of the Northern lights shimmering across the night sky.
