We all sing in the shower. Okay, most of us do. But this guy got his pipes all riled up for all the wrong reasons.
Dustin Baker from Grover, Colorado was enjoying a shower when he suddenly felt a tingling sensation in his, let’s just say keister. And before he could figure out what was happening, the tingling sensation turned into a full-on burning. Apparently, the body wash that he used was menthol and not the usual one that he had been using.
Any lesser man would’ve broken down in this crisis, but not Dustin.
As he fought back the burning feeling, he turned this pain into a work of art that would be viewed over 8 million times in TikTok.
With her husband asleep, Dustin’s wife Riley shared their experience in her account:
“Okay, so everytime he takes a shower, he sings this song that he made up. Because one time he got menthol body wash. And apparently it burns you’re a*******”
Then it cuts to a selfie video of Riley sitting just outside the shower curtains with her husband belting out “Weeeeell!”
Riley was struggling so hard to keep her laughter to a minimum even if she’s the one who got themselves in this burning situation in the first place.
A lot of us would be expecting that Dustin would be singing a short random song that doesn’t even rhyme but apparently when your butt is burning, it will lead you to a new artistic epiphany.
The song goes:
“I worked all day,
And I worked all night.
Wanna come home and feel alright.
But something’s got me shaking in my skin.”
Riley was covering her mouth with the back of her hand, ready to lose it any moment. While a random yelling song is funny, a well-thought set of lyrics is far more entertaining and impressive.
“I opened it up and slathered it on
Now I’m sitting here singing this song
I washed my a** with menthol soap again.”
In fact, the whole song is so well written that it even has arrangements for backup singers. Dustin sang that part in full falsetto like menthol was still smoldering in his undercarriage.
This hilarious encounter racked up millions of views in Tiktok, and eventually landed the couple in Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Riley explained that she was in charge of the groceries and on that fateful day, she didn’t notice that she grabbed the wrong body wash.
Her unwitting husband who just wanted to be squeaky clean ended up, as he told the late-night show host, a meeting with God when he felt that his underside was on fire.
The song now stands as a constant reminder for him to always check the label before slathering anything on his body.
His efforts were not in vain, though, as his song was recognized for the “Porcelain Awards” and was given an amazing cover by the band Dawes.
When asked by Jimmy Kimmel what people thought about his song, Dustin said:
“When I was younger, I wanted to be a rock star and so my mom made a point to say, ‘Hey, look! You made it with music.’”
Dustin is physically okay now, but he also said that he is scarred for life. We hope he’ll finally reach the time where he doesn’t need to sing the song anymore.
