When we think of Vaseline, we typically think of a remedy to soothe chapped skin. But there various uses for Vaseline around your home.
Here are some of our favorite uses for Vaseline.
Keep Razors Like New
Rub some Vaseline on your razor to keep the blades like new. Just make sure that the razor is completely dry so that it doesn’t rust.
Wipe Off Make Up
Vaseline works great as a makeup remover. Just rub some on a cotton pad and use it to wipe away your eye and other makeup that won’t come off with washing. It’s less expensive than makeup remover and will also take off eyelash glue.
DIY Flavored Lip Balm
Add some Kool-Aid to some Vaseline to make your own flavored lip balm.
Fix a Stubborn Zipper
If you have a zipper that is stuck, try rubbing some Vaseline on either side of the stuck area and try moving it back and forth to lubricate the zipper teeth.
Make Perfume Last Longer
Rub a little bit of Vaseline on your wrist and neck before you spray perfume on it. It will make the scent last longer.
Make a Jack-O-Lantern Last
Coat the inside of a carved pumpkin with some Vaseline to make it last longer.
Prevent Nail Polish Bottle From Sticking
Rub the top of a nail polish bottle with some Vaseline to prevent the cap from sticking when you close it shut.
Repair DVDs and CDs
Dab some Vaseline on DVD and CD scratches and wipe the rest away. This should allow the disc to play.
DIY Lip Scrub
Pour a little bit of sugar or sea salt into some Vaseline and use it as a lip scrub.
Keep Items Paint Free
Rub Vaseline on door knobs, locks, hinges and other things you don’t want to get paint on while your painting.
Grow Out Your Eyelashes
Rubbing some Vaseline on your eyelashes at night will help them grow longer. It will also make your lashes look darker and fuller when you dont’ feel like putting on mascara.
Polish Leather
Use some Vaseline in place of leather polish. This will shine and moisture your shoes, bags, belts, and other leather goods.
Prevent Split Ends
Rub a little bit of Vaseline on the ends of your hair to prevent split ends in between haircuts.

Remove Makeup Stains
Dampen a washcloth and wipe some Vaseline on it. Use it to wipe up makeup stains from clothing, pillows, blankets, and sheets.
