Everyone has their favorite parts about a wedding – whether it be the vows, the cake, or maybe watching Grandma bust a move on the dance floor.
Personally, I look forward to seeing the flower girl and ring bearer walk down the aisle. That’s because it’s really a toss of the dice on what you’re going to witness. A lot of times it’s either a scene that’s too darn cute – or too darn funny.
For one couple, they’ll never forget their flower girl’s dramatic entrance. It’s a clip that’s been watched more than 2.2 million times.
There are a million and one details that go into the planning of a wedding. From the dress to the place settings, most brides and grooms try and think it all through in the hopes of having their big day go smooth.
One tradition many couples follow is having a flower girl walk down the aisle before the bride. Ever wonder why that is? There’s actually some really interesting symbolism behind it.
According to Reader’s Digest:
“The main focus of having a little girl walk down the aisle first, though, has always been to represent the transformation of the bride from a child to an adult. That is why they wear white dresses too, so they can look like a mini version of the bride. As the flower girl walks down the aisle she symbolizes the innocence of the bride fading away and her role as a wife and future mother beginning.”

It starts with a quiet church and rows of guests waiting to see who’ll be coming down the aisle. Pretty typical, right? But that’s when loud noises start coming from the back…
Everyone looks around when the sounds of a crying child can be heard. Some of the guests are even chuckling because it’s pretty obvious what the problem is. Suddenly, the flower girl emerges…
Yep, it was her making all the racket! She was NOT happy about having to go down the aisle. Instead of walking slowly with a basket of flowers, the girl bolts towards the altar screaming her head off.
But the comical scene doesn’t end there. Next comes the ring bearer with an even smaller flower girl. He doesn’t seem too happy either.
The boy hits himself in the face with the pillow. We’re not sure if it’s because of what he just witnessed, or if he’s upset about having to be center of attention. Either way, we get it, kid.
His descent is pretty funny to watch, and ironically – the little peanut flower girl is the most well-behaved of them all.
Although it transformed into a priceless scene no one will ever forget, it does raise the question of what are the best ages for flower girls and ring bearers (if you want the best chances for success). According to Brides:
“Flower girls (as well as ring bearers) are usually between the ages of four and seven. Children under four, unless they’re extremely grown-up for their age, don’t usually perform well on such a big stage. With so many strangers staring at them and lots of direction, having a flower girl who is too young runs the risk of a melt down at the top of the aisle.”
We don’t know exactly how old the flower girls are in the video, but from what it appears, the bride and groom didn’t get the memo.
