If you were to ask the average person to name a Queen song, likely “Bohemian Rhapsody” would be their response. It’s the British rock band’s 1975 classic that combined a variety of music genres into one six-minute masterpiece.

Sofie, Matteo, and Julia were asked to perform “Bohemian Rhapsody” during a battle round on The Voice Kids. Besides it being a complicated song on its own – the fact that the contestants spoke German would add to the impressive feat.

The coaches faced the girls waiting to hear what they’d be able to do with the iconic tune. Accompanied by a piano, Matteo is the first to unleash her voice, followed by Julia, then Sophie.

With each passing moment, the performance gets more powerful while the stunned reactions become more clear. Together the trio was absolutely crushing it.

During the operatic portion of the song, one of the coaches shows off that he’s covered in goosebumps. Others can’t help but rise to their feet to dance along. But as we know, “Bohemian Rhapsody” has multiple changes, meaning there was so much more to come.

A couple of minutes into the girls’ rendition it’s transformed into a rock concert that has everyone going wild. After that, it simmers back down with Mercury’s closing lyrics. In a short time, all three contestants managed to demonstrate their diversified singing talents.

As for the meaning behind “Bohemian Rhapsody” that’s to be determined by the listener. According to Metro, Freddie Mercury once explained:

“It’s one of those songs which has such a fantasy feel about it. I think people should just listen to it, think about it, and then make up their own minds as to what it says to them…”

At first, the girls seem taken off guard, but quickly jump back into an epic encore of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Unexpectedly everyone’s treated to twice the amount of chills.

One man wrote:

“This is the most iconic amateur group cover of the truncated version of BH ever performed; worlds of talent in this trio, who start as rivals and end as collaborators, in a performance with a genuine live concert vibe. This is rock and roll.”
