By this time, everyone who watches talent reality shows knows the unassuming mousy 48-year-old Scottish lady who surprised everyone on stage at Britain’s Got Talent. Everyone who watched the episode knew Susan Boyle was going to be a force to reckon with. When she stepped out on stage in 2009, no one expected that angelic voice to come out of her mouth.

And when she hit the high notes consistently, she impressed the judges and audience even more.

And now, ten years later, she has released her eighth studio album, aptly named Ten.

The album includes ten covers, including “500 Miles”, “I Dreamed A Dream”, “Wild Horses”, and “You Raise Me Up”. Her album debuted at number five on the UK Top 10 and has already released two songs with their official music videos, “A Million Dreams” (duet with Michael Ball) and “Stand By Me”.

According to Classic FM, she is from Blackburn in West Lothian, Scotland and she still lives in her family home with her cat, Pebbles. Given her success, we’d expect she’d be living in a fancy flat or house in a posh neighborhood. But she chose to stay where she grew up and stay close. to her roots. She did end up buying the property next door so she can extend her space to build her dream home.

Her Mom was a big encouragement in her life.

Susan took voice lessons, attended Edinburgh Acting School, and sang in their church choir. She did join local singing competitions and won them, that’s why her mom encouraged her to audition for Britain’s Got Talent.

Yes, Susan Boyle is the first female singer to make this accomplishment!

Susan didn’t win that season of Britain’s Got Talent. She got the runner-up spot after the dance troupe, Diversity, won. But that didn’t stop her from recording her very first studio album, I Dreamed A Dream, and became the UK’s best-selling debut album of all time. It also topped the US charts at the same time, which she was able to do again with her second studio album, Gift, which came out a year later. Did you know only The Beatles and The Monkees have ever experienced this accomplishment?

But it isn’t just singing that Susan showcases her talent with.

TheList.com reports that Susan hired a local Blackburn piano teacher to help her learn to play the piano. Two years later, she debuted her skills at Leicester show, which incidentally was also her 53rd birthday, and sang “Who I Was Born To Be” while she played the piano. The audience was stunned! They loved watching her showcase her new musical skill.

And, unlike other musicians, Susan has taken control of her brand and her empire. Initially, her brand was operated by her niece, Kirsty Foy, and celebrity accountant Ossie Kilkenny (his clients include U2). But in 2011, she decided to take over the reins from them and take charge of her running her brand and her money.

Ten years after her first talent show debut, Susan took to the talent stage again.

She performed once again at America’s Got Talent: Champions, which featured champions and favorites from the different Got Talent shows all over the world. She performed Wild Horses and earned a standing ovation and the Golden Buzzer from AGT judge Mel B

Fellow judge Simon Cowell said: “I cannot think of any other contestant who has defined this show better than you. You made a huge difference to a lot of people’s lives.”
