You really don’t know what you’ll come across in a Costco, because sometimes, you’ll even witness an impromptu musical performance while shopping around.

One day, all customers were treated to a beautiful piano duet by a female shopper and a salesman in a Torrance, California store.

The woman was intrigued because a salesman started playing “Killing Me Softly”, and she walked up to him and the piano display.

The man was playing on one of the other instruments, and the woman absolutely loved it. She is actually busy with music herself and approached him to talk about music, but it didn’t take long before these two actually started performing together as well.

Luckily, one of the customers managed to capture the impromptu duet on camera for all of us to see.

Now that the footage is out there, the woman is more commonly known as the “Costco Piano Girl”. She had no idea that millions of people would watch her playing the piano!

When both of them are seated at adjacent piano’s, the salesman starts playing some tunes that will probably be very familiar for most.

They agreed to perform “Somebody Like You” by Adele, an absolutely beautiful song, just like their skillful and passionate piano rendition.

A couple of moments after the salesman starts playing, the female shopper joins in for a team-up. You can immediately tell that both of them are very talented and music holds no secrets to them, and the small crowd that gathered around them knew that they were in for quite a treat.

If you look closely in the video, you can spot a dad nearby who’s holding his toddler while these two are performing – seeing them gently dance to the music is just so sweet!

These two just met, but it’s clear that their musical chemistry is absolutely there. They’re a great team.

It also wasn’t a problem for either of them to play the classic Adele song by heart, after all, it was quite popular in the hit charts. The salesman, who was later identified as Justin Romanowich, said everything just “flowed” between them, and it showed.

The video went viral and in a massive way – it has already been viewed over 14 million times!

Just to iterate: the footage was taken before the coronavirus pandemic, which is why you won’t see any social distancing or facemasks in the footage.

In any case, fourteen million views for a musical performance inside of a supermarket, that’s pretty amazing.

“Never would I have guessed that this video was going to hit millions of views! I really appreciate all the love and support everyone has shown!” the “Costco Piano Girl” shared on YouTube.

Some people noticed that the song was “disturbed” by a couple of children who were hitting notes on other pianos, but the woman actually loved it and thought that it added to their performance.

“Many of you have left words of encouragement and support in the comments and many have also made comments about the children. I would ask that you would see the “imperfections” in the music as humanness in all of us. The extra notes in this video, although not initially intended, added flavor and uniqueness to the whole experience. I hope we can all see it as the children improvising along with us. They wanted to make music too!” she concluded.

The smile on their faces says it all.

Definitely make sure to check out their amazing piano duet below!
