Jamee’s drug use started at the tender age of 13, she moved on to meth and heroin after she was raped by two men at age 17
At a young 13-years-old, Jamee started smoking pot to escape from her already troubled childhood. By 15 she had progressed to opiate-based pills, like Percocet. When she was just 17-years-old, Jamee was raped by two men in the same night, that’s when she made the switch to heroin and meth.
“I was traumatized and depressed from the rapes, and the first thing I did the day I walked out of the door was met up with some guy,” Jamie told the Daily Mail.
Jamee’s life spiraled out of control when she ended up in jail, she attempted to take her own life
Jamee was completely hopeless, sitting in her jail saw she only saw one way out, that’s when she attempted to hang herself and ended up in a coma for two days. Luckily, she was saved at the last minute by corrections officers.
That was two years ago, It’s also when Jamee started her road to recovery!
“I spent a lot of my addiction thinking this is it, and that’s another thing I was thinking when I hung myself, I’m never gonna change there’s no hope for me I was absolutely hopeless.” Explained Jamee.
It hasn’t been easy, there were a few relapses, but Jamee has now been clean for 1-year and just got her GED
Jamee has made a miraculous transformation, she’s been sober for a whole year and now has a boyfriend! They also have two puppies together that mean the world to Jamee!
