This primary school performance is truly out-of-this-world. From the moment the four girls make their way onto the stage, to the very last movement in their perfectly executed and choreographed dance routine, these youth performers know how to work the stage and keep you in your seat, captivated!

The overall performance time comes in at just over four minutes. For me, I could have watched it for hours. The routine is incredibly relaxing and calming. Almost hypnotizing at times. Watching them move so gracefully across the stage in perfect unison with each other.

I particularly enjoyed the costumes as much as the dance routine itself. Adding the lights to the worn material was brilliant. The way the girls moved in the outfit and commanded the lights with the sticks they are holding really made this performance so much more than it would have been without the lighted outfits.

In the first few moments of the performance the performers wrap themselves in their wings, maybe to represent that they are enclosed in a cocoon, and do a little spin to separate two girls on each side of the stage. They then open their wings and raise them high over their heads and take a stare into each others eyes, as if to say “Here I am, take me as I am.”

They then take two bows almost to signify that they are seen and understood to be the same but different. And then they continue with the rest of the show.

The entire performance really captures every tone of the music in my opinion. Following every dramatic note with a dance move to match, keeping your eyes on the beautiful dancing lights, and your ears tuned in to the tranquility of the sounds the musician has created.

What about the beautiful music playing for the girls to perform too? Such a soothing to listen to experience. If you want to hear more from this artist his name is – Hans Zimmer – and the name of this song is called – Tennessee.

If you are watching this heart warming performance and wonder, “I swear I have heard this beautiful piece of music somewhere else before” you may have. This is also the same music that plays in the movie “Pearl Harbor” as the bi-plane flies through the air with the sun setting in the background. I believe this is where the pilot meets the freedom in the sky!

Just listening to the beautifully composed music, whether it is in the movie or in the young ladies dance performance, is easy to trigger a solid lump in your throat and a tear or two in your eye. I suggest having a box of tissues available if you will be watching a movie or performance and listening to anything composed by Hans Zimmer, a true to the word, emotion triggering, master composer!
