Phil Wright is a renowned dancer and choreographer who travels the world to bring slick moves to the masses. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think you can dance – he makes magic happen. He’s even managed to get kids and parents dancing together!
While we all feel like we had some great moves in our heydays, parents’ dancing is often a source of extreme embarrassment for their children (much to the amusement of some of those parents!).
But Wright invented a genius new bonding experience for parents and kids called The Parent Jam which encourages kids and their parents to learn some choreography and put on a show together – and the results are incredible!
The kids take center stage in his compilation videos and often have some serious talent. And the parents are no slouches – even though they tend to be in the background, doing a bit less hair-whipping and pop-and-lock, their energy and good humor make these videos addictive to watch. And, hey, some of them are truly great dancers too! There’s a reason Wright’s videos go viral immediately.
One of the most popular videos in the bunch is from 2017, when 8 groups of parents and kids danced to Ayo & Teo’s super-catchy “Rolex.” It’s been viewed 15 MILLION times. Here’s why…
First up is a young woman and her mother who both have some serious style. But the girl is WAY into her performance, not only nailing every move but busting out an attitude to match.
Next up is another mother-daughter duo who really get the crowd into it. We’re loving those matching headbands and sass. They even have great t-shirts – mom’s says “The Original” and her daughter’s says “The Remix.”
These two even play off each other a bit in their choreography and while the kid has some major moves, it’s mom’s great attitude that leaves everyone smiling.
The next family up is another mom and her son and daughter, who have the crowd clapping along with their slick moves.
The kids even manage to get some air in this routine and everyone looks like they’re having the time of their lives.
The next group is a classic. A mom and her two sons take over the floor, but there’s only so much choreography the young one can do. The older brother, however, is taking it seriously enough for everyone – we love it!

The next teen to truly bring down the house has both parents with her and they frame her amazing moves perfectly.

The next to take the floor is a foursome with some MAJOR moves. Parents and kids alike are tearing up this dance floor.
Same for the next group of gentlemen – whoever said dads don’t have moves has never seen these guys!
And finally, 3 duos of moms and daughters show off their dance skills, with the kids taking their moment of fame VERY seriously.
