Man Puts Girlfriend on eBay - Generates Amazing Response
Well, he didn't see that coming!

It seems to be the thing for couples to do these days–no, not post one another on eBay, but to prank each other.

There’s the wife who text her husband a photoshopped picture of a coyote sitting on their couch…next to their child.

There’s the husband who got his wife a “sex after 40” book for her birthday, the contents of which are completely blank pages. There’s the brave soul who filled his and his wife’s house with ball-pit balls, and the man who pretended to cut off a foot of his wife’s hair.

Even celebrities are getting in on the action. Blake Lively and Ryan Gosling, THE COUPLE all other couples aspire to be, have been entertaining fans off the screen with their ongoing prank war. Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are another couple who love to have a laugh at one another’s expense. Even Crissy Teagen and John Legend have a childish side. According to Crissy, she likes to send John nudes and then say, “sorry, wrong person.” Ouch.

So, apparently taking his cue from others, Dale Leeks of Essex, England, decided to pull a prank of his own. But many wonder, as does his girlfriend…did he go too far? You decide.

Dale, seeking revenge after his girlfriend, Kelly Greaves, whipped his bum in a riding shop, decided to put her up for sale on eBay. He posted an advert on the site in which he listed her condition as “for parts or not working” and said there was a “constant whining noise.”

When discussing her “bodywork,” Dale described her as “fairly tidy but close up shows signs of wear.” He continued, saying that she had “No serious damage but you can see she’s been used.” The cherry on the top was this next bit: “The rear end leaks a bit but nothing that can’t be plugged.”

If only all women could find a man who described them in such a way….

His joke generated a lot more interest than he could have imagined. The messages were slow to trickle in at first, but after the first few, the floodgates opened. He attracted 81,000 views in just 24 hours. More surprising was the fact that he actually got bids…and a lot of them. Kelly, by the time the post was pulled down, had received 100 bids for $92,100 American dollars.

The messages from potential buyers were interesting…if not a bit inappropriate and demeaning. Many asked to “take her for a test drive,” and “how many previous owners did she have.”

Perhaps the best response of all, however, came from eBay itself. Apparently, under eBay’s seller policy, the sale of “human body parts and remains” is strictly forbidden. You learn something new every day.

Had he just tried to sell a lock of Kelly’s hair, he may just have gotten away with it.

If that’s not pure comedy gold, I don’t know what is.

Dale recounts the entire incident and shares with us what Kelly thought of the whole matter.

“After I put it on eBay I just kept laughing about it and she asked what I was laughing about. I told her I’d put her up for sale on eBay and was like ‘gotcha’.”

“At first, she thought no one would see it and thought it didn’t matter. But we went out for dinner that evening and I was being bombarded by messages from all over Europe, and places as far away as America and Australia.”

“I kept looking over the table at her but I wasn’t really telling her the scale it had gone. The first few bids and messages on eBay were from friends who had seen that I’d done it and gone and bid on her. But from there it just majorly spiraled out of control. The bids started going mad.”

“I was like “wow, what have I done? And Kelly turned around and said to me ‘so what price would you actually have sold me for? Would you have been upset if someone actually bought me?’ “

“She was less impressed that I had done it at first. But as it went along she said she wondered how much she was going to go for and said she was actually quite happy that I was selling her. She said if the new owner had that kind of money then she was going to have a better quality of life. So it could have backfired. Something I should say is I wouldn’t sell her and love her to bits.”

Sounds like she’s a true sport. You’re lucky to have her Dale – and her lax response to the whole incident should be enough to inform you of just how great of a catch she truly is.
