If you’ve ever been to a children’s dance recital, you know it’s only certain that a hilarious moment will take place.
Everyone had their cameras out when a group of peewees took the stage for the song “Do You Love Me.”
While all the dancers were adorable – it was the boy in gray who seemed to steal the show!
You gotta admire little kids and their free spirits. Eventually, a lot of us become reserved as adults – when really, we should still be “dancing like no one’s watching.”
Allow the 16-month-old boy in the video below to be your inspiration. While there was indeed a crowd watching, it didn’t stop him from letting loose on stage.
This kid was ready to dance.
According to the video’s description, it all took place at the end of the year performance. The boy was actually cousins with some of the other dancers – which must have made the event even more memorable!
The girls were in sparkly dresses while the toddler was in a simple gray outfit. However, they all had their tap shoes on ready to show off their skills.
As the classic 60’s song “Do You Love Me” blared through the speakers the kids got to dancing.
There was obviously a routine they had learned, but at their age, things are bound to not go so smooth.
Some of the girls seemed shy and a little nervous being on stage. It’s understandable, especially if it’s their first experience in the limelight.
The boy, on the other hand, didn’t seem to mind being the center of attention. He tapped his feet and swung his arms, all with the biggest smile on his face.
One aspect that adds to their performance is the song choice.
You might remember “Do You Love Me” (by The Contours) from the epic, “I carried a watermelon” scene in Dirty Dancing.
The lyrics are just too perfect with the performance. “Do you love me – now that I can dance? Watch me, now!”
At one point the boy seems to get a little distracted by another dancer. But after a whistle from the crowd, he jumps back in the game. He even remembers to do his “mash potato” and “twist” moves.
It looks like he’s having just a ball during the entire routine, which is only everything. It’s such a cute (and funny) performance that it’s been viewed more than one million times!
If you’re in need of having your day brightened, look no further. People on YouTube seem to agree that this is a video that lifts the soul. One person shared:
“This was the best minute and nine seconds that I’ve ever spent on YouTube! That little boy is precious, his smile is so contagious!”
Another commenter pointed out how incredible little kids’ spirits are.
“I wish my grandkids stayed at this age for a while longer. Out of 10 grandkids only one is under the age of 6 and we miss their innocence and absolute carefree happy ways, like not a worry in the world.”
While others put it more simply:
“He’s to cute I can’t stop laughing and playing this over and over.”
