Woman hangs laundry – gives glimpse into life in Sweden on the first day of spring
Yep, that's snow - and yep, she's wearing a dress.

For most people, the first day of spring signals the beginning of warmer weather, budding plants, a chance to shed off our winter jackets in favor of something a little more lightweight.

But we don’t all live in a country that paints the picturesque image of spring that many of us long for.

If you thought the seasons were tough where you live, imagine being in Sweden.

One woman, YouTuber Jonna Jinton, took it upon herself to share what spring in Sweden looks like – and it’s definitely not the spring that most of us are familiar with.

In the hilarious video, Jonna can be seen pushing her way through what looks like at least 5 feet of snow, carrying a laundry basket.

The show is so deep that it reaches her waist, but Jonna is still determined to wear a short-sleeved spring dress.

After forcing a path to her washing line, which is mostly submerged in snow, Jonna places her laundry basket on the snow and begins to hang up her clothes.

The good news is that she doesn’t have to bend down to reach her laundry – but the bad news is that by now, her legs must be numb with the early stages of frostbite!

The video is captioned: “Finally, the first month of spring is here! Sunshine, singing birds and the best things of all; being able to hang out the laundry to dry in the fresh air! :D”

This is pretty funny when you compare the caption to Jonna’s actual spring reality: waist-high snow and below-freezing temperatures.

Credit to Jonna, she doesn’t even look as if she’s cold as she takes her time hanging up her washing. She’s either a very good actress, or she’s completely used to the snow by now!

Being so quirky and humorous, Jonna’s video went viral, racking up more than 15 million views and 12,000 comments.

People shared their own countries’ spring climates, highlighting the diversity of the world we live in.

One person wrote:

“If she comes to indonesia or tropical country, she’ll be pass out for heat stroke. Temperature average 25-35 °C. 😂😂😂”

Someone else agreed, sharing:

“I live in place called Chennai in southern part of India. Here we can see snow only inside freezer of Refrigerator 🤣🤣🤣”

The majority of commenters were concerned about Jonna’s choice of attire, considering it would have been in the below-minuses during her filming.

But it sounds like Jonna is truly living her dream.

According to another video on her channel, Jonna moved from the city 8 years ago and “moved 1000 km to the north”, where she started a new life close to nature.

She wrote:

“These 8 years have been so challenging and hard but also wonderful and magical in every single way. I have learnt so much from that day I came to the old house in this smal village in the forest with no money, no job and no plan on what I should do with my life.

“But from that day I started living, for real. I started appreciating things that I had never even thought of when living in an apartment in the city. And I learnt that you can never feel the wonderful, comfort feeling of warmth if you have not yet been cold.”

Obviously, then, Jonna appreciates the cold because it reminds her just how wonderful the warm can feel.
