Soaking in a nice hot bath is a great way to reduce stress, moisturize your skin, and of course, keep your body clean. However, did you also know that a hot soak can actually help you burn calories? Studies have proven that you can actually burn 130 calories by soaking in a tub of hot water. That’s on par with doing a 30-minute walk!

The study went on to explain that individuals who soaked in a bathtub after a bike ride would typically burn about 130 calories more than those who did not. The reason? Their body temperature was elevated just enough to keep the body shedding those unwanted calories.

2. Drinking Cold Water

On the other side of the spectrum, you can also drink cold water to burn more calories. How does it work? Drinking water at any point can increase your metabolism, but explicitly drinking cold water can increase it slightly more.

Studies indicate that the extra metabolic boost comes from your body trying to warm up the cold water to reach body temperature. Two different studies suggested that drinking 17 ounces of water could increase metabolism, but the increase varied significantly from person-t0-person.

3. Singing in the Shower
