With popularity at an all-time high, you’ve probably heard all about it. What are we talking about? Converting old vehicles. Whether a delivery truck, school bus, camper, or RV, a lot of people have started to turn something old into something new. The transformations are remarkable. One couple did this but with a twist.
An old camper
The story starts with an old 1978 Wilderness camper. As you can see in the before photo, it’s an ugly cream color with forest green stripes. There’s no question, this thing has been around for a long time. But the exterior wasn’t the only part of the camper that was outdated.
A nasty interior
Look, this camper was originally built in 1978. And considering no one had ever done anything with it, the same interior existed. So, as you can imagine, it wasn’t just out of date but quite ugly. That was going to change.
Dreary and dull
Everything about this camper was dreary and dull. It even had the original wood-paneled walls, orange-colored fabric on the seats, and faded curtains. But this couple saw past all of that. They knew with some hard work they could completely transform it.
They got to work
After quite some time, the couple did what many people thought was impossible. They turned a junky old camper into a beautiful piece of vintage art. The differences between before and after are beyond incredible. It starts with the outside, which now boasts white and blue colors.
The kitchen
In place of dirty and damaged wood cabinets and countertops, this camper is now bright and cheerful. The gorgeous white cabinets help to make the space appear larger. And with white tiled walls, it’s super inviting.
The bathroom
The couple carried the same white trend into the bathroom. The old yellowed walls are now bright and cheerful. And the stunning oak countertop in contrast with the white cabinets makes this room look totally different. It’s truly remarkable.
Changed seating
Instead of the horrible orange seats, the couple went with a calming blue color scheme. After reupholstering the cushions, they added coordinating pillows. Now, people can sit inside the camper and feel right at home.
Sleep accommodations
Originally, this camper could only sleep two people comfortably. Yes, a third person could stay on the pull-out bench but it wasn’t recommended. So, they built a loft. As a result, four people have a comfy place to sleep.
Additional changes
This couple went to great lengths to transform the camper yet give it a vintage look and feel. As part of the project, they changed out all the kitchen appliances. They also put in new windows and a new door, added new wheels, changed out light fixtures, and more. This was certainly a labor of love. But in the end, all the hard work was worth it.
A complete makeover
The cool part about this is that the couple produced a video that walks viewers through each step they completed. It’s become so popular that as of today over 44,000 people have watched it. This video goes from start to finish, showing all the changes they made.
