Hundred pound Malamute avoids bath time by trying to hide from his parents
When you're a big dog "hiding" is not so easy.

The Alaskan Malamute, sometimes referred to as a “mal” or “mally”, is a domestic dog breed that shares similarities with arctic breeds such as Eskimo Dogs and Siberian Huskies. Apart from being extremely adorable (and fluffy!), the Malamute is known for its strength and endurance, making it the perfect sled dog. And quite a lot of dog lovers gush about how great it is to have a Malamute for a pet, too.

Generally, Alaskan Malamutes are sociable and outgoing.

Great for raising with a family, this charming dog breed is even more adorable when well-trained. They’re loyal and affectionate, and funnily enough, act like big babies sometimes, just like Phil.

A couple from the UK recently shared a funny video of their Malamute, Phil, hiding and whimpering because it was time for his bath. Apparently, Phil loves the water – he has no problem jumping in a lake or a sea.

But for some reason, he hates baths.

Considering he spends a lot of time frolicking through muddy fields and swimming in dirty water, it’s comical how there’s a sudden aversion when it’s time to step in the tub.

After playing outdoors and getting all sorts of grime on his fur, Phil also doesn’t mind when his mom hoses him down before letting him back inside the house. And since that isn’t enough to get rid of the smell, a bath is drawn for the 100 lb. dog.

Despite Phil’s love for jumping in cold lakes and seas, his mom refuses to bathe him outside especially during winter. And instead of being happy about being bathed in a tub with warmer water, Phil responds by “hiding”.

Because he’s such a big baby, he also believes that keeping his head down and trying to fit in the space between the tub and the wall will make him invisible to his mom and dad. Phil continues to avoid going in the tub by somehow staying low and making it even more challenging to move him.

Even the couple’s baby, Mia, and their pet cat, Milo, are witnesses to Phil’s hilarious antics.

And speaking of Mia and Milo, Phil tries to hide behind them, too! At some point, Milo was even asked to show Phil that bath time isn’t at all bad. And in true cat fashion, Milo just sort of looked around at everyone in the room before jumping off the edge of the tub and lazily walking out of the bathroom.

You’ll hear a lot of coaxing and giggling as Phil’s mom and dad try to convince him to step into the tub for his much needed bath, to which Phil responds by either looking up at them with puppy dog eyes, avoiding their gaze and hiding, or keeping his body low so he can’t easily be carried.

What makes the entire thing even funnier is how the baby and the cat just look on curiously as Phil does everything he can to avoid taking a bath.

He’s even mastered pulling a long face and genuinely acting like he feels sorry for himself.

And being the baby that he is, Phil had to be lugged closer to the tub by his dad, carried, and set inside. You’ll love watching this adorable Malamute act up during bath time.
