A few years back, a passenger on an EasyJet flight captured mind-blowing footage that took the world by storm.

Nick O’Donoghue, a software support manager, was flying from Austria to London Gatwick on an EasyJet flight. While he was enjoying the ride, he looked out the window and spotted something strange.

In an interview with MailOnline, he explained: “I was flying back from a work ski trip in Austria. I was on the window seat with two work colleagues beside me. They were talking like crazy, and I was gazing out of the window, as you do.”

“I could see this figure in the distance in front of us and then as we flew closer, this shape appeared.”

As first, O’Donoghue thought his eyes were playing tricks on him, but soon, his co-workers confirmed his beliefs.

“I asked the ladies beside me to look at it too in case I was seeing things,” he said.”

“They too were amazed. I then took some pictures, and then the aircraft slowly passed it.”

Luckily, before they separated, he managed to get some good shots.

As you can imagine, Donoghue was perplexed by what he had seen.

When he got home, he posted the photos to Reddit, where they immediately went viral.

In the post, Donoghue said the figure was likely a funky cloud formation but was hoping someone would be able to explain. He noted:

“Some comments online said it was smoke stacks below, and heat from the pushed up the layer of clouds, but I don’t think so as they looked very close together.”

This past July, another person captured footage of what appears to be giant figures walking in the clouds.

Tuscaloosa, Alabama resident Solo Dolo was chronicling an incoming storm on Facebook Live. In the video, they note there’s no power while showcasing the thick, giant clouds. At one point, Dolo says:

“Look at the hole right in the sky, that’s who’s got the power.”

Unbeknownst while recording, the video captures a human-like figure walking through the opening in the clouds. Solo Dolo then shared the footage to Facebook, writing:

“Can’t tell me my God ain’t real! … To see this is to believe this.”

Since being uploaded to the LADbible Facebook page, the video has been viewed 38M times.

While some viewers aren’t convinced by the entire ‘God’ argument, others believe He really was revealing himself in the clouds:

“For the people saying this is God/Jesus, how have you established that this is God/Jesus? It might be the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk.”

“I saw a picture of a tornado in Oklahoma years back with Jesus open arms. I believe Jesus is real and not a fairytale. Praise the Lord for those of us that believe without seeing.”

“Goes to show there is a God. How many people take time to look up, or even notice life and nature. That could be or could not be an angel or Jesus, but whatever it was, it has at least 70k people talking.”

Last year, there was another incident where people believed they could see God’s massive hands in the sky.

The scene took place in Mackay, Queensland, Australia, during a crashing storm. While the rain and wind raged, the sky had turned completely black— but captured in the footage, showed what appeared to be a giant hand.

In this instance, however, the mystery was solved quickly. The UK Sun reports the scene was actually just the reflection of the man recording being picked up on the camera.

Back in 2015, people in China also captured footage of a floating city in the sky.

While many attributed the floating city to conspiracy theories like Project Blue Beam, meteorologists said the phenomenon was likely the result of Fata Morgana, described as “a type of optical illusions that distorts distant objects, caused by the warming of the atmosphere above lands or sea.”

It’s the same optical illusion thought to be behind the legend of the Flying Dutchman ghost ship. You can see a video of it here:

According to Business Insider, Fata Morgana has to do with the way our eyes perceive objects around them. “When we look at something, our brain assumes the light coming from it traveled in a straight line, but this becomes an issue when the light travels either through either air or liquid with different densities,” the website explains.

“That’s why things look like they’re in a different spot when they’re underwater.”

“The boundary between the water and the air bends the light we are looking at, and our brains get the wrong idea of where the object is.”

Now, I’m not sure whether these walking figures are the product of Fata Morgana— but I do know they’re something you need to see for yourself. If anyone has another scientific explanation for this amazing video, be sure to let us know in the comments.
