Miracles happen every day, some big, some small. In this case, the miracle that took place is almost beyond comprehension. When their son was marked for dead by doctors, this family put their faith in God and their prayers were answered.
This is one of the most amazing miracles I’ve ever seen.
Doctors didn’t think baby Isaac would survive and so his parents made the difficult choice to remove his life support, but that’s when a miracle happened.
Isaac Hawkins was born in June, prematurely. On August 21st, Isaac’s father noticed the infant was having a seizure, he was rushed to the children’s hospital in Knoxville, Tenessee. Isaac’s parents, Caleb and Emma Hawkins’ were beside themselves when doctors told them Isaac would probably not make it.
He had suffered a huge amount of brain damage, had a collapsed lung and continued having seizures. They were given the impossible choice, continue to let him suffer, or take the infant off of life support, leaving little to no hope of survival.
As they began to disconnect the life support, doctors told Isaac’s parents not to hold out hope, he likely wouldn’t make it through the night.
Emma and Caleb were devastated, but one thing never changed, they continued praying. Little did they know, their prayers were about to be answered. When they took the breathing tube out, Isaac started breathing on his own. He even was swallowing and taking his pacifier.
Emma Hawkins created a Facebook page Pray for Isaac Hawkins asking people to please pray for the Isaac. Unfortunately, he’s not out of the woods yet. On the page, she’s posting updates and encouraging people to pray.
“Isaac just finished up his MRI. We should have results either tonight or tomorrow. Praying God brings us good news! Physical therapy came by today for Isaac, and let us know he was looking well. Isaac was able to move his little arms & legs about. Although he was a little shaky the therapist advised all in all he was reacting good! We continue to have faith, and trust in God. Please pray for some answers, and good news following the MRI. We will for sure update as we find out more.” Emma posted September 16th.
Isaac is alive against the odds, and Emma and Caleb continue to pray for his full recovery as more tests are done.
Their faith hasn’t waivered as they pray for their baby boy, the latest update was September 18th when they Posted to the Pray for Isaac Hawkins page saying:
“Isaac is resting today! Mommy & Daddy are spending lots of time lovin on him. Isaac had an EKG today, to check on the seizures. Were hoping they have reduced, and that we see some good news there. Be praying for him today.”
