Let Love Bleed Red

One of America’s most beloved reality television icons, Duane Chapman or better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, revealed in an interview that he is now engaged to current girlfriend Francie France. The couple began dating at the beginning of the year and have hitched it off incredibly well. So well, in fact, that Dog decided to pop the question in an elegant candlelit setting at their home in Colorado.

Come One, Come All

The couple has been spending time together in their home away from everyone as they are adhering to the coronavirus quarantine guidelines. They are very excited to bring the entire family together for their big wedding as Chapman says he wants to have the “biggest wedding there’s ever been”. In addition, he says it will be open to all his fans and that it will be “one hell of a party.”

After Chapman dropped to one knee and proposed in romantic fashion, Francie, 51, said: “I wasn’t expecting it at all. I think I had gone to pick up some food and then when I came back he had all the lights turned down with just a few lights on and a bunch of candles lit.”

Very classy Dog. Truly a moment worth remembering for the two for years to come.

“So when I came in I was like, ‘Wow this is awesome.’ Then he said, ‘Come in, sit down because I need to talk to you’.

“So I put all the food in the kitchen and I came in and he said, ‘I know that God brought you into my life and I don’t want to spend one moment of it without you’.”

As she recalled this special moment, Francie began tearing up as her emotions rushed to her. “And he got down to one knee and he opened the ring box and he said, ‘Will you marry me and spend the rest of our lives together?’

“Who can say no to that? It was wonderful.” Francie said.

What Gets The People Going

The wedding will have to be postponed until the lockdown is lifted. Expect a huge gathering as Dog’s 12 children, Francie’s two sons and their grandchildren will all be awaiting the special occasion with high hopes.

There are also talks about expanding the audience to include Dog’s fans, or the “Dog Pound” as they’ve come to be recognized. Fans are eager to hear back about the possibility to attend such a huge gathering in celebration of love and unity.

“I would love to have the biggest wedding there’s ever been.” Dog said.

Dog has expressed that this is what people need right now after being locked down for such a long time.

The journey for the ultimate commitment hasn’t been an easy one for either Duane or Francie. Both have lost their spouses to cancer. Dog’s late wife, Beth Chapman or Mrs. Dog as she was called, passed away due to throat cancer last June.

Although the wedding has been met with a myriad of support, there has also been a number of people who have criticized the two for moving on too quickly.

“And you know there’s always going to be haters, and I probably arrested half of them,” said Duane. “But the truth is that both of us have spent three years walking alongside our spouses sick and we know that God brought us together and that’s why we don’t believe that it’s too soon.”

Nothing Like Family

Most importantly, Dog’s family has shown their unrelenting support for his new union with Francie. Daughter Lyssa and Bonnie Chapman have both posted on Instagram showing extraordinary approval of their father’s engagement stating that Francie is an “amazing woman” and that their mother “would’ve wanted him to be happy.”

All is fair in love and war and in these tumultuous times, it’s great to hear that love can still bloom unapologetically. Cheers to the lovely couple and to hoping the wedding pans out as they expect it to be.
