Meet Bailey. He is your average Golden Retriever. Usually lazy except when there’s a camera pointed at him. And he knows it.
And he is possessive. Very possessive. So much so that he is not afraid of showing his owner his displeasure at having to share affection with anyone. Or anything.
After all, devotion is one of a Golden Retriever’s strongest attributes.
So… Who’s he? Huh??
Bailey’s eyes says it all. He looks so betrayed and upset that at first, he refuses to face his owner and the stuffed toy. A few moments later, he raises his head to look as his owner starts to pet the toy. Bailey looks and with an exaggerated turn, looks away.
His owner begins to cuddle and kiss the stuffed animal. What does this good boy do? Attack, of course!
Bailey gets up and attempts to make a line for the stuffed animal. His owner blocks him and pretends to act like he prefers the toy. Poor Bailey!
Let me at him!
And perhaps wanting to show his owner who’s boss, Bailey begins to climb and gnaw at his human. He definitely wants to fight!
Fight for affection that is. Living up to the Golden’s gold standard of loyalty through love and endearment, this adorable dog starts to paw at his owner and use his full frame to establish his position of supremacy.
His master switches position, allowing Bailey to move behind him. All with an amused look on his face.
Now you see me. Or do you?
Escaping from his disadvantageous position, he is able to move to his master’s right side and get a few hugs. Alright!
But he has not forgotten about his new nemesis. Bailey attempts a quick bite. But a quick grab and hug from his human is enough for him to sink back and melt in his human’s arms. Wanting to still vent out his frustrations, Bailey begins to gnaw and nibble at his master’s finger, much to his owner’s delight. Take that!
I shall punish you with nibbles!
And maybe he doesn’t appreciate his human laughing at his antics because Bailey begins to bite his owner’s face and ear. All he wanted was love!
But try as Bailey might, he just doesn’t look intimidating. Maybe it’s those eyes. For who can resist those adorable pearls? Well maybe if he bites more, everyone will take him more seriously. At least he’s not one to shy away from showing how he feels.
He is the true golden boy in this bout!
You have to admire his determination to succeed. He is making good use of his high energy and strength in this match. Go for the win, big boy! Bailey finally spreads his massive body on his owner’s lap and pushes the stuffed animal away. With his master’s help, but don’t tell him.
There’s only so much love that goes around this house and Bailey wants it all! Obviously enjoying the affection he’s now getting, he tries once again to make a move on the stuffed dog. But his master retrieves the toy for more cuddles!
Bamboozled Bailey refuses to quit

It might have been a ruff day but in the end, Bailey won. Pretty sure he did. After all, can you resist that face? Neither can we.
