Fritz Mortimer is one of the sassiest dogs that you’ll ever meet – so it’s no surprise that he’s somewhat of a social media legend. Fritz’s hilarious personality led his owner Bret, to set up his very own Instagram account, and it was on that day that Fritzmortimer was born.
The account, which features tons of cute snaps and videos of Fritz, now has over 25k followers – and it’s not hard to see why!

Not only is Fritz a legend on Instagram, but he’s also causing a stir on YouTube, after featuring in one of Bret Mortimer’s videos. Titled, “Fritz – Dog After the Dentist” we already know that it’s going to be a good one.
“Fritz was mad I took him to get his teeth cleaned and would not look at me afterward. The coldest shoulder…he’s a human trapped in a dog’s body, I swear.” Bret captioned the video.
The video was posted back in July 2019, and since then it has been viewed by over 2.4 million people all over the world. It’s impossible not to laugh as you watch this funny dog’s reaction to his trip to the dentist.
“Fritz, look at me. I’m sorry I took you to the dentist,” Bret says in the hilarious clip. “I’m so sorry! You won’t even look at me.”
As Bret tries to reason with Fritz, you can see that he’s just not having it. He stares determinedly out of the car window and is clearly giving Bret the cold shoulder, and he looks so much like a sulking child who hasn’t got their own way that we can’t help but laugh.
“Come on buddy, just look at me once. You’re not gonna talk to me?” Bret says, as Fritz continues to stare out of the window. “Okay buddy, I love you very much. I had to do it!”
Bret’s apologies still aren’t enough for Fritz.
He simply can’t understand why his owner would take him to such an awful place. Surely this is animal abuse?
As dogs don’t brush their teeth every day like us humans do, a regular dentist check-up is super important.
But this is something that poor Fritz just doesn’t understand. In his mind, his owner is taking him to this horrible place just for the fun of it.
People took to the YouTube comments to share their love for the video, with one person saying:
“His soul is hurt…he definitely eating a shoe or two with those teeth you just had cleaned.”
Another added:
“Dog thinking: Ignore her…Ignore her apologise….resist…must resist….uhh cuddles…MUST RESIST.”

While Fritz probably put up a sulk during the rest of the car journey home, we can guarantee that it was all forgotten about once he arrived home and had a tasty treat or two.
