These Dads Are Winning Big Time At Co-Parenting
This is what co-parenting looks like.

Divorce can be messy. Some people are eventually able to rise above that mess and heartbreak for the sake of their children.

These parents are what is now known as “co-parents.”

These are parents who keep communication positive and take extra time and care to nurture their relationship so that their children’s lives remain as normal and healthy as possible after a divorce, according to Our Family Wizard.

Co-parenting can sometimes get a little complicated when companions and step-parents get involved.

But not for everyone.

Dylan Lenox has got this whole blended family thing down pat.

So much so that when you look at one of his family photos you might think that he’s in a same-sex marriage.

But that’s not the case.

That’s just his stepdaughter’s dad who also happens to be his new buddy. He credits his stepdaughter Willow, who he refers to as his daughter, with creating this bromance.

“Our daughter Willow. You may never know how your love has changed us all. The guy to the left is me (Daddy, Daddy Dylan or Bonus Dad),” Dylan wrote in a post on Facebook.

“In the middle is, of course, our Princess Willow, and the guy to the right is David (Daddy, Daddy David or biological Dad). No, we are not a same-sex couple, but we do share a daughter.”

Dylan says that he, his fiancé, and David make sure they have a close family so that their children understand the meaning of unconditional love.

“David is Sarah’s ex-husband, and I am the fiancé. We have molded ourselves into one unique family, if only for the sake of our children to know the power of love. Not only did I gain a daughter, I gained a brother and a best friend,” Dylan explains. “Thank you, Sarah, for letting this all happen!”

Most of the time, the aftermath of divorce is portrayed as something very ugly.

We see parents at each other’s throats, bitterness, and jealousy.

In the worst case scenarios, we see parents putting their children in the middle of all this.

At least this is what the media tells us.

But Dylan says it doesn’t have to be that way.

“When we care more about our children (on both sides of the party) than the way society has taught us to be towards ex’s/baby momma’s/daddy’s, then walls will fall, life will be free of hatred and remorse, and our children will conquer the foolish ‘norms’ that media has shoved in our faces,” he says.

Dylan says David is welcome in his home just as any of their family members would be.

This might seem strange to some divorced couples, but not Dylan’s family.

“He stays at our home when he visits because family is always welcome. He is not an outsider, he is and will always be a part of my life for the simple fact that we share the same daughter!” Dylan explains.

Dylan says the glue that holds it all together is Willow’s awesome mom and his wife-to-be Sarah.

“Of course, not a single moment would be like this without Sarah (mommy) and her kind and generous heart! Willow Grace, you are loved by so many people in this world, and your Daddies love you!” Dylan said.

Dylan is so pro-David that he’s even trying to get him a date.

Now is that a good guy or what?

Dylan’s post ended up going viral so hopefully, his wish for David will come true.

“FYI. David is SINGLE. These photos were taken before a daddy-daughter dance. David, her bio dad, took her this year. This was an impromptu photo opp. This is real, and this is us,” Dylan said.
