Kids aren’t really the best artists, but we have to give them props for their creativity.

Seeing the potential in his kids drawings, artist Tom Curtis decided to turn their works of art into reality.

The project initially started out as a fun activity for Curtis and his two children Al and Dom around three years ago. But it turned into something even bigger and more challenging.

Curtis now takes artwork from other kids around the world to make real life renditions of their drawings. You can check out his work in the Instagram account Things I Have Drawn.

#1 Let’s begin with this giraffe straight out of a surrealist painting

A giraffe with wings? Yes please! The African savannas would surely look better with this majestic winged giraffe trotting and flying there.

#2 Warning: Mona Lisa’s less attractive cousin may give you nightmares

We warned you. Mona Lisa’s lesser known cousin is not for the faint-hearted. No wonder she isn’t featured in a museum, huh?

We wonder how the kid who drew this came to imagine such features. We’re guessing he was inspired by a nightmare. If not, this picture is still definitely some nightmare fuel.

#3 And so will this screaming bear

You think brown bears are scary enough now, huh? That’s because you haven’t seen this reincarnation of it yet. With bears like this roaming around the wild, you wouldn’t want to be camping out with your family out in the woods this summer.

#4 Would you cuddle with this panda?

Good thing pandas look cuter than this in reality! If pandas looked this closely related to a spider, it might be a tiny bit harder to love them.

#5 Well, that sure is one ugly duckling

It seems the famous children’s story was really based on true events. Here’s proof that The Ugly Duckling is a true story. Hopefully, he gets his day in the sun and turns into a beautiful swan someday. Fingers crossed!

#6 The resemblance is uncanny in this one

This is why you don’t ask your kids to draw you a portrait. Or at least, just leave their drawings as drawings and not turn them into terrifying realistic renditions such as the picture above.

#7 The king of the jungle seems to have come onto hard times

While we like the new take on the lion’s mane, we can’t help but be worried about its health. It seems that prey has been hard to come in this lion’s side of the jungle.

New York City’s most iconic lady gets a makeunder in this rendition of a kid’s drawing. What do you think?

We’re not sure what we’re looking at. But one thing we’re pretty sure about is that we wouldn’t want to see this creature in real life.

What do you think of these recreations of children’s drawings? Don’t forget to check out others like them. This artist will be around for a while.
