Woman Unhappy With Gift Demands More In Insane Messages
A woman unhappy that her co-worker didn't spend the maximum amount on her Secret Santa gift sends him an insane string of messages that you will have to see to believe.

The subreddit r/ChoosingBeggars is the place to go if you want to see just how entitled people can be.

They say beggars can’t be choosers, but these folks – who are usually getting something for free – seem to have missed the memo.

One of the highest-ranking stories among hundreds of infuriating examples is an exchange between two co-workers after their company’s annual Secret Santa gift exchange.

It all starts off ok:

That’s nice, right? Reaching out to a colleague to thank them for a gift.

Unfortunately, the recipient had an ulterior motive.

Wait, what?!

So, apparently, instead of being happy with a gift, the woman immediately went online to add up the cost of the items and, upset that they didn’t add up to the spending LIMIT (which, need we point out, is the upper boundary, not the minimum requirement) asks for more stuff.

Now, here’s part of the reason people get away with acting this way – some folks are too nice to clap back. We don’t know what the gift-giver was thinking, but their response was (initially, at least) friendly beyond belief:

Not only does he not rebuff the ridiculous request, he offers to make it up to her in cash!

As you might imagine, this opens the door for an even more insane request.

Apparently, this is not a joke. She really expects her co-worker to go out and buy her a tablet!

Eventually, he puts up some resistance, but things only get worse from there.

We love how it ends in “thanks i appreciate it” as though it’s a done deal and her new tablet will be sitting on her desk in the morning. No such luck.

You might also notice at this point that the gift isn’t even for her anymore, she expects her co-worker to buy it as a gift for her children. Before he can even respond, she makes it personal:

Unbelievable.

Not only does her co-worker keep talking her through this, but he’s still responding politely to an insane request.

In return for staying civil in this situation, the entitled mom has the nerve to tell him what to spend his money on.

Notice the time stamp here too – 3 minutes later she’s already harassing him about “ignoring” her message!

We’d be sending this right to HR at this point and cutting the conversation off. Alas, things continue and manage to get even uglier.

How kind of her to accept the cash, after making a complete fool of herself.

Luckily, she got the response she deserved in the end. All the while, the original gift-giver kept it amazingly civil.

The transcript of the conversation posted to Reddit ends there, but we can’t imagine she took that response well. If this weren’t already such a dumpster fire of human behavior, we’d be curious to know what texts came next.

As it stands, we can’t imagine that word won’t get around the company that this conversation took place. We can only hope that after getting some perspective on her behavior, she eventually saw the error of her ways and apologized.

Is that too much to hope for?
