Hosts Ant and Dec on Britain’s Got Talent interviewed a sweet little blonde girl, who was missing her front teeth and sent her on the stage. Without a doubt, she quickly stole everyone’s heart.

The judges proceeded to ask her a series of questions.

Connie was there with her mum, Sharon, who stood with Ant and Dec in the wings while Connie walked up to the center of the stage to stand in front of the BGT judges. When she came onstage, the judges were quick to find out as much as they could from this adorable little girl.

Before Connie went on stage, she had no idea that Simon was already in a foul mood.

The judges have been listening to and watching auditions that were either not up to par or just plain awful. Simon was about ready to give up but he had to continue with the auditions. He was hoping the next audition would be one to light up the stage. And sure enough, out walked young Connie Talbot.

This sweet little one has been singing practically her whole life.

Piers quickly interviewed Connie and she said she was going to sing. She said she had been singing since she was two years old.

Piers asked her if she thinks Queen Elizabeth II will like her singing and she shrugged and said, “I dunno.” Simon remarked, “That’s the first honest answer we’ve heard today.”

Her song choice won over the judges and audience immediately.

Connie chose to sing solo and she sang the classic song that was originally sung by Judy Garland, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” And as soon as she sang the first notes, the entire venue went silent.

Simon sat up in attention. Amanda started tearing up.

Connie’s mum, Sharon, was crying backstage while Ant and Dec’s jaws dropped. No one could believe this voice was coming from such a little lady.

Everybody stayed silent while they listened and watched Connie sing.

Everyone just wanted to enjoy this precious once-in-a-lifetime moment. When Connie sang her last notes, everybody cheered and clapped for her, which brought a happy smile to her face.

Piers said, “You were absolutely brilliant. I thought you sang that beautifully.” He pointed to fellow judge, Amanda, and he said, “Amanda was crying so obviously she liked it.” Amanda agreed and said, “I’m a complete mess.”

Piers said there was only one person she needed to impress.

That was the “Simon Cowell.” He asked Connie, “What do you think? You think he liked it?” Connie smiled and shrugged

Although he sat up straighter to listen to her, Simon’s face throughout the audition was very serious.

No one could figure out what he was thinking until he spoke. Simon told Connie he was going to speak to her like an adult “because I think it’s important,” he said. “I thought,” he continued, “You were fantastic.”

Everyone cheered and Connie had the biggest smile on her face, revealing her gap-toothed smile.

“Was that really you singing?” Simon asked her and she nodded yes. The three judges voted her on to the next round, where she would advance all the way to the finals, winning second place after British operating singer and tenor, Paul Potts.

Even when she had exited the stage, Simon was still astounded at Connie’s performance. “She was pitch perfect,” Simon told Piers and Amanda, who agreed.

Since her BGT stint, Connie has been busy building her musical career.

She has released several albums that have sold millions, performed worldwide, including the UK, US, South Korea, and China. She continues to serenade her followers with different cover songs.
