“I feel very much in love with him that he loves me like this,” Lomphonten said.
We have heard of people’s pets waking them up in the middle of the night, but how about a pet trying to suffocate its owner while they are sleeping? That is exactly what happened recently in a strange story coming out of Thailand.
Pet owner Lomphonten Lomphontan decided to install a group of cameras in his house recently to keep an eye on his Tabby cat, Achi, while he was at work.
Achi was known for getting himself into trouble and Lomphonten wanted to make sure the cat was good while he wasn’t there to babysit him.
However, the most interesting footage that the camera picked up took place much later in the day.
Lomphonten found out his cat was taking naps on top of his head every night! It’s one thing if a pet loves cuddling, but a person’s head is an area that is normally off-limits. Apparently, though, Achi didn’t get the memo.
What happened after Lomphonten closed his eyes the night of the footage was pretty funny.
First Achi tested to make sure his owner was actually asleep.
He batted Lomphonten’s face with his little paws. When the man didn’t budge, that’s when Achi knew it was safe to lay down on his favorite cuddling spot.
The cat can be seen in the hilarious images laying on top of Lomphonten’s head, covering not only his mouth but his nose too.
Achi couldn’t care less that his human needs to breathe. He is comfortable, and for him, that’s all that matters.
“I sat and watched [the footage] one night,” Lomphonten told The Dodo. “It was very funny.”
Despite the appearance that the cat might be trying to suffocate him, Lomphonten’s interpretation is actually quite different.
“It’s a show of love,” Lomphonten said.
He thinks it is simply Achi showing his affection.
Even though it is something he would never allow the cat to do if he was awake, seeing the goofy footage made him very happy.
Can you imagine waking up in the middle of the night to see your cat’s bright yellow eyes literally inches away, staring straight into your soul? It would definitely cause us to be a little surprised.
The two make a great team though, and at least cats don’t drool the way dogs do.
Nothing would be worse than waking up to a face full of dog drool. Lomphonten also added he has no plans of trying to dissuade the cat from cuddling up to him like that in the future. He simply has accepted it as one of Achi’s interesting quirks.
We’ve always wondered the sort of trouble our pets get into when we aren’t looking, and as for Lomphonten, now he knows. His cat is totally a midnight face cuddler, but apparently, it’s something that they are both okay with.
