Bruno Mars came together with Anderson .Paak to form an R&B supergroup named Silk Sonic.

“Leave the Door Open” is their lead single, and people are going wild for it. Both men have voices that almost make you blush. When they sing, it’s like they are singing to only you. Mars serenades:

“I ain’t playin’ no games
Every word that I say is coming straight from the heart
So if you tryna lay in these arms.”

It’s not just the song that is garnering recognition, but the official music video has tens of thousands of people lighting up the comment section on YouTube. Only five days after the video dropped, it has over 26 million views!

The video is simple, taking place in a ’70s Motown recording studio complete with beautiful female groupies dancing along to the smooth vocals of Mars and Paak.

For Mars, reaching back into different decades for inspiration is not a new concept. His music career is laced with ’80s funk, new wave and ’90s R&B references. And his voice carries the song of the past so well!

You might not have heard of Anderson .Paak, but once you listen to “Leave the Door Open,” you’ll be hooked.

If you like Bruno Mars, you’ll be sure to add .Paak’s work to your rotation. He has won multiple awards including three Grammys, and has worked with legends such as Smokey Robinson.

In their music video, he and Mars both sound and look the part of a classic funk duo.

With Mars on the keyboard and Paak on the drums, the duo is also joined by members of Mars’ band The Hooligans.

All of them are studded in vintage style clothing and entirely in sync as they groove to their smooth sounds! Be prepared, you won’t be able to keep yourself from falling into rhythm with the band.

Sure enough, Silk Sonic has already secured a place in the 63rd Annual Grammy Award lineup.

No doubt, they will command the stage just as well, if not better, as they do in their music video.

In a YouTube video by Jamel_AKA_Jamal, a music reaction and review channel, Jamel immediately moves along with the band as he watches the video for the first time. After seconds of watching, he pauses the video and declares the performance “ultra-smooth.”

At the beginning of his “Leave the Door Open” reaction video, he says, “Bruno is top tier as far as keeping great music alive.” We can’t agree more!

Like Jamel, many watching the video for the first time are overtaken by the sound Silk Sonic creates. From the vocals to the set, this music video is hypnotizing!
