For the two lovebirds Audrey Moore and Jesse Lumen, a traditional marriage ceremony isn’t exactly what they had in mind. They’ve been together for over nine years and always figured that when they’d get married, it would truly be something unique and special.

And they’ve definitely managed to make that a reality.

Before the wedding, the bride Audrey simply asked all of her female friends to wear their own wedding dresses once again.

After all, the couple thought that it was kind of sad that most women only have one chance to wear their wedding dress, which truly is a shame. Then they came up with the idea to let everyone re-wear their own wedding dress, and the result is absolutely glorious.

“We thought it was sad that most women only get to wear their wedding dress once, so we invited all the women coming to our non-traditional wedding to wear their old wedding dresses again!” the couple posted.

Because Audrey was the last of her friends to get married, everything perfectly fell into place.

“They’re all such beautiful women inside and out and I had heard so often that they were really sad they couldn’t wear their wedding dress again,” the bride said about her friends to TODAY. “So then I decided I really wanted to be surrounded by a bunch of my beautiful princess brides and have a magical, fun day together.”

Audrey, who is an actress, wanted everyone present in the wedding ceremony to shine just as bright as her, and she was more than willing to share the spotlight with her friends. The fact that her friends would be able to wear their wedding dresses again was much more important to her.

But what about the guests that weren’t married?

Luckily, the fun couple had quite a few back-ups plans right up their sleeve. People who weren’t already married usually came in their prom dress or another piece of clothing that has only been worn once. The two also presented the guests with another alternative: dress up in a character of their choosing.

Weird? Perhaps. Fun? Absolutely.

Even though some of her friends were pretty reluctant and skeptic about the idea at first, they quickly realized how much fun it would be.

“My first reaction was, ‘If I’m wearing my wedding dress then what is Audrey going to wear?!'” bridesman Aviva told. “I was excited and nervous about wearing my dress, and thought, ‘Would it still fit?’ When the special day came, though, we were all swept up in the magic. It reminded me of all the beautiful emotions I felt on my wedding day. I hope this starts a trend because I’d love to wear my wedding dress again.”

As for her own wedding dress, Audrey gave her seamstress a ‘carte blanche’, she was absolutely willing to wear whatever she was presented with. She even contemplated the idea of having prints or polka dots on her dress, but they settled for a glorious blue piece in the end. The choice was carefully made – because now she looked like Elsa from Frozen, something she’s always dreamed of. At the reception, Audrey even had a cape full of LEDs over her shoulders!

Because of the rather unique dress-code, everybody speculated what Audrey would wear. Groom Jesse didn’t care about the dress, he only cared about their special day.

“Honestly it doesn’t matter to me what you wear, even if it’s completely silly. Whatever you choose, I’m just so happy that we’ll be spending the day honoring ourselves and our love.'”

As for him and the groomsmen, they wanted to have a bit of fun too.

No sharply dressed shirts or outfits and no tuxedos – all of them wore the same comfortable white hoodie with a tuxedo print on it.

This special outfit isn’t coincidental, because the white hoodie has a special meaning from when the couple first met.

“I met him in a white hoodie and I somehow always pictured him in a white hoodie when we got married. In fact, my favorite thing for him to wear is a hoodie,” Audrey mentions. “So when we discovered that they made tux-print hoodies in white, it seemed perfect.”

The wedding reception was just as fun and unique as the rest of the special day.

Everyone dressed up into costumes of their favorite fictional characters, and they even held a competition and award ceremony for the best-dressed guests!

There were plenty of activities such as arcade games and skeeball and no less than eighteen different (but smaller) wedding cakes!

“We’re lucky to have an incredible group of creative friends who helped us put this whole thing together,” the couple mentioned.

“All of the women that wore their past wedding dresses are still married. We even did a slideshow of everyone’s wedding pictures for guests to see when they entered the ceremony area. At the end of the day, we really just wanted the wedding to celebrate marriage as a whole.
