Nicole was put on the spot when her dad asked her to sing at her own wedding. Turns out he knew what he was doing and the atmosphere she created in the room had me smiling all the way through.

Bride Nicole Cheslock wasn’t expecting to sing at her own wedding – which is why she was thrown for a loop when she was handed the mic. Turns out, it was the best decision ever!

In a video that’s gone viral, Nicole transforms her reception into a mini-concert with a performance of the ultimate party song, “Don’t Stop Believin.’ It’s a unique scene that has even viewers rocking along with the bride.

Wedding day surprises are pretty common, and fortunately for us, a lot of newlywed couples share them online. Who can forget the dancing groomsmen or the flashmob that left everyone in tears?

Although weddings typically have a surprise or two, it’s not very often that the bride is put on the spot and asked to sing at her own reception.

Nicole’s father and husband-to-be Aaron were very aware that she had a fantastic voice. So, they cooked up a little secret and planned for her to sing with the band (at least for one song).

Let’s give it up for the bride!

At one point during the reception, Nicole’s father lets her in on the surprise and hands over the mic. She’s reluctant at first (who wouldn’t be), but fortunately, she’s told she’d be singing one of her favorites, Journey’s classic “Don’t Stop Believin.'”

Nicole seems nervous at first, but quickly jumps into the tune while being surrounded by her friends and family. From the very beginning it’s easy to tell that she’s sung it many times before, and frankly is really quite good!

The energy continues to build up in the room and any nerves Nicole might have felt seem to disappear.

She becomes a true rockstar right before everyone’s eyes. All the guests go wild dancing and singing along to her performance that was captured on camera for the world to see.

Brides are supposed to steal the spotlight – but this is on another level.

The wedding band that helped Nicole make it all happen was EBE’s Sydney. When Philadelphia spoke with the co-leader, Nick Centrella, he told the publication:

“Any time someone that you have never heard sing joins you on stage, you have reservations about whether they will be good or if we will need to carry them through the song.”

However, Nicole wasn’t just your average person that takes the mic at a karaoke bar. She’s actually a talented singer that really knows how to work a crowd.

Centrella continued:

“But as you see in the video, as soon as she hit the first note, I put my hands in the air to signal to the rest of band that she was great and to just let her take it. She rocked the house and we were happy to supply the back up for that epic moment!”

After the couple’s wedding videographer, Dave Thomas’ All Set Creations & More, shared the performance on YouTube it spread like wildfire. It’s now been viewed over six million times.

You’ve likely been to a lot of wedding receptions during your lifetime, but this pop-up performance really takes the “cake.” One commenter wrote on YouTube :

“Loved it. A beautiful song for a beautiful lady. Congratulations on your wedding day. Steve Perry would be proud of you singing this tune.”
