This cow in Australia is bigger than any cow we’ve ever seen before, but interestingly enough, his incredible size might be the only thing saving his life.

While all of his friends got shipped off to the slaughterhouse, the large cow named “Knickers” had to be left behind. The processing plant simply just couldn’t handle a cow of his size.

In an interview with ABC News Australia, Knickers’ owner, Geoff Pearson, elaborated on the situation:

“He was too big to go into the export plant’s chain. We have a high turnover of cattle and he was lucky enough to stay behind.”

Due to his gigantic size, Knickers won’t be becoming dinner for anyone anytime soon. Instead, he will get to live out his life in relative peace, on the same farm where he grew up. In fact, with his second lease on life, Knickers has even become the go-to leader of the cows.

“You’ll put him in a paddock and all the other cattle seem to get attracted to him,” Pearson said. “Whenever he wants to get up and start walking there’s a trail of hundreds of cattle following him. We all know when Knickers in on the move.”

With a towering height of 6 feet 4 inches, Knickers is currently believed to be Australia’s largest cow. That’s almost as tall as star basketball player Michael Jordan who measures in at 6′ 6″.

If you can believe it, Knickers also weighs a whopping 3,086 pounds. His size really lends a new meaning to the phrase, “holy cow!”. In fact, the whole thing is udderly ridiculous.

The giant cow is of the Holstein-Friesian breed, well known for their large size.

They are also the world’s highest production dairy animals.

Although, even among a breed of giants, Knickers’ proportions are definitely still out of the ordinary. Holstein cows generally grow to about 4′ 10″, and weigh on average 1500 pounds. That means Knickers is a huge outlier.

Knickers is 7-years-old currently, and will likely live to somewhere around 20, a number that is quite old for a dairy cow. The average cow is normally removed from the dairy herd somewhere around age four and subsequently marketed for beef.

In addition to his incredible luck at dodging the meat production facility, Knickers has also become somewhat of an Internet sensation lately. Users on Twitter just can’t believe his enormous size.

One user had this to say:

Another user offered up this witty comment:

Some people were just in total shock:

It’s hard to believe this is real life. In fact, the giant cow kind of looks like something out of the moooooovies. Sorry, we had to.

However, no matter what you may think about Knickers, if one thing is for sure, it is that he is certainly an impressive cow and unlike any other we’ve ever seen before.
