There’s nothing more heartwarming than seeing an animal find a loving home. Pets you buy from kennels will likely have a good life anyway, but when you adopt, you save lives. These animals didn’t expect much out of life, but life delivered and now they can spend their days living happily ever after.
1) From Otter To Cooper
In February, this dog was sitting at an animal shelter and was named Lobito. The second picture was taken in May when he was on a hike with his new family. His name is now Cooper and he loves his life.
2) She Was Given A Smile
Her name is Scarlett and she was rescued just before she was going to be put down because she has a minor skin condition. No one wanted her and they were going to euthanize, but she’s the sweetest thing ever.
3) She Wasn’t Shy
This quarantine cat was adopted to keep her human company. Although the shelter said that Ahsoka would take a while to warm up, she wasn’t afraid for longer than a few minutes and soon came up to her new human like this.
4) The Proud Mommy
This dog was found right after she had given birth and was now raising kids that were hers and those that weren’t. She was living as part of a feral pack for over a month but warmed up to her new family quick. She was taken care of and now has a home that ensures her and her puppies’ safety.
5) The Secret World Of Arriety
This is Arietty and she could not be happier to be part of something bigger than herself. The thing is, she’s waiting for her human to throw her toy and the human is convinced that she accidentally adopted a dog.
6) They Knew What To Do
This animal shelter got a call that this doggo was going to be taken to Animal Control. They couldn’t let that happen. So they bathed him, groomed him, and found him a new home as fast as they could.
7) The First Safe Nap
Imagine being an orphan and having that first nap at your new family’s house. That’s what this cat got to experience. He had just been rescued and he instantly fell asleep in his new owner’s hands.
8) She Calls Him Quarantine Cat
This dude spent the first two weeks after being adopted hiding under a chair. Now he sleeps with his humans every night. All it took was a little love to gain a lot of trust and the rest was history.
9) He’s Brightened Up
This isn’t photoshop or a difference in cameras, this is a difference in environment. As soon as he was adopted, he was taken home and given what he needed. When this happened, he literally brightened up.
10) Happy To Be Alive
This dog was not having a good time at the animal shelter. But before they even got home, he was as happy as could be. He didn’t need anything physically, he just needed to know someone cared about him.
11) Those Eyes Are Dangerous
This is her very first kitty and it was well-chosen. Her name is Artemis and she’s the most polite cat ever. But isn’t it the sweet, charismatic ones you have to worry about? Artemis will steal your heart.
12) You Can Trust This Bear
This is a Sun Bear in Bali and they are the sweetest guys ever. They are the smallest bear in the world and love to give hugs to strangers. If you ever meet a Sun Bear, don’t hesitate to give him a hug. Just kidding, he’s still a bear.
13) Come Get Some Food
The first time food was brought out, only one kitten appeared. But the next time the human showed, more cats appeared. Looks like someone went and told little brother that lunch had been provided.
14) Eat Yourself To Sleep
This girl put a birdfeeder on her deck and a squirrel grew attached. Now he can be found out there having lunch most days and likes to take his afternoon nap after lunch. To think they haven’t named him yet.
15) The Wrinkled Brow Is Gone
No one wanted to adopt him because of his cropped ears and scary face. But it turns out that he is the sweetest dog at the shelter. He loves his new family and would do anything for them. Gotta love those bright eyes.
16) Love At First Sight
Sometimes, you just know that the being you have just met is the one. This is one of those instances. These two knew that they were meant to be together and it shows. This is them at the animal shelter and yes, she was adopted.

19) Losing Your Mommy In Walmart
This baby walrus got separated from her pack and was rescued. This is what happened when he found someone. He had been alone and scared for so long that he was sure he’d never see anyone again.
20) On The Open Road
This dog is as happy as can be. Not long ago he was found abandoned. Now, he’s on his way home and can’t stop staring at the love found in his human’s eyes. I think the feeling is mutal.
21) Now She’s Resting Easy
The best sleep that a dog will get is the sleep they get the first week they spend in a new home. Most people who adopt dogs will treat them well. This dog got extra lucky because she’s smiling in her sleep.
22) Tell me You Don’t Love Her
She looks like she’s had one heck of a day, but now she hasn’t a worry in the world. She’s been brought back to life, per say, and is the sweetest angel in the world. Imagine euthaizing this beauty.
23) Blade, More Than A Trilogy
Before this dog was adopted, he was never allowed inside and was nearly neglected. But now, he roams the home and is as happy as a dog can be. Who wouldn’t want to spend the day with Blade?
24) And Then There Were Twenty
The day before, this guy fed two ducks that were on his porch. Now, he brought his whole family and then some to get lunch. On him, of course. This is why you don’t feed the animals.
25) A Love Story
This was the night that this poor soul was found on the streets. The second picture isn’t months later, it’s one week later. He was sad, wet, and cold, but all he needed was a warm home to cheer right up.

This cop may be charming but so is the rabbit. It was found wandering the streets of New York but thanks to the NYPD, it was taken to a lovely farm where it can spend the rest of its days hopping around the place.
27) Personal Space, What’s That?
When this cat was first adopted, it would only sleep at the end of the couch, away from everyone. Now, his name is Bug and he takes that name seriously because he has no concept of personal space.
28) It Was Empty
This box was empty when this person left it but when he came back ten minutes later, it was full of cats. What does a person do with that? Feed them? Take them to the shelter? Or take them in their home and raise them for the next ten years?
29) A Reason To Be Grumpy
This cat had a reason to be grumpy before, she did not have a home nor someone to love her. Now, she’s as sweet as can be and loves spending time with her family. Does this make you want to adopt?
30) Try Saying No
There are some faces you just can’t say no to. This face right here is one of them. This dad is not really a dog person but even he couldn’t pass this dog up. The two are now as happy as can be.
31) What A Sweet Smile
This girl was adopted a week before this photo was taken and now she’s wearing her Christmas sweater with pride. Dogs can be more affectionate than people sometimes and this photo proves it.
32) Aretha Needs Respect
This is Aretha and she is a rescue cow. She was taken care of by this man and now she’s returning the favor. Now she’s grooming his legs and nuzzling him to show affection. Whoever said cows couldn’t do that?
33) The Ginger Queen
She was found sad and abandoned as a kitty. But this transformation is awestriking. She just might be the prettiest ginger cat that I’ve ever seen. She was a cute kitty but her sadness made me want to cry.
34) When Gaining Weight Is Good
This cat is named Jemma. She was five pounds when she was adopted at two-years-old. Now, she weighs more than ten pounds and is as beautiful as she can be. It’s amazing what a couple years can do.
35) It Didn’t Take Long
The first picture was at the intake cage at the Humane Society and it is not a pretty picture. The second one however is the same boy a month later at his new home. Have you ever seen such a pretty dog?
36) Not Afraid Anymore
This dog was afraid of men. Until this new daddy put a blanket down for her and laid himself down. Now she uses him as a pillow and the rest is history. Rescues can be the sweetest dogs you’ll find.
37) Now That’s A Smile
This dog could not be happier. This was the day that she was adopted and she’s just ecstatic to be out of that shelter and into the arms of someone who will treat her right. Can you see the joy on their faces?

This dog Lily came from a house, but it wasn’t until she moved here that she had a home. She was abused and neglected before and now she finally has her first toys. As you can tell, she likes tehmv very much.
41) How Big Will He Be?
This little turtle was almost stepped on but was rescued by someone walking along the beach. He was probably hatched under the sand and found his way out, but he almost didn’t make it to the ocean!
42) Just Five Months
Her eyes are brighter and her fur is gorgeous. This is a five months difference. The first picture is her right after she was adopted and the second picture is months later when she has grown to love her new home.
43) This Is My Happy Face
This is Dani and her human says she is a derp, a loving, funny derp. A year ago, she was sad, living in a shelter like the “In the Arms of an Angel” commercial. But now, she’s not a poster child for anything but sweet dogs in loving homes.
44) Life Can be Rough
This poor cat looks like she’s been through the ringer. But it didn’t take long for her to warm up to her new family. She was properly groomed and taken care of and now look at her. She’s a sight to behold.
45) Brothers Forever
These two brother dogs were found wandering alongside a mountain. They both quickly found homes and have been loved by their new families for four years now. Thankfully, the families know each other so they can play together often.
46) Hercules Finds A Home
Hercules is this squirrel who was nursed back to health for a month by this guy here. After he was healthy again, he was released back into the wild, but not before this amazing selfie was taken.

Everyone told this family that their adopted cat would be nervous and timid for weeks. But this is him thirty minutes after arriving home. He feels safe and secure in his new home and couldn’t be more relaxed.
48) Her First Bath
This cat is seeing this bath for the very first time and she can’t believe it. I’m not sure if this is a face full of concern or joy. She knows something is up with this bath but she isn’t sure what.
49) Meet Odin
This owl was hit by a car and left for dead. They nursed him back to health, despite him only having one working eye. Now his name is Odin and he’s about to change the world. But first, it’s lunchtime.
50) Putting On The Healthy Pounds
This is a six month difference. She was thin and insecure when she was adopted but now she’s confident, healthy, and loved. She’s everything that a normal cat should be and as pretty as can be too!
51) He Found The Dog
This man is a hero. He read a report about about a dog that was stranded on a mountain. So what did he do? He went out in search of this dog and didn’t stop until the dog was brought home safely.
52) Never Leave Me
Whenever you adopt a dog, there’s a good chance that he’s going to be little anxious and attached to you. This dog didn’t want to leave his new human’s side and refused to look away from her the entire ride home.
53) Someone Needs A Nap
This poor hummingbird was found under a chicken coop near death. He was fed sugar water and brought back to the land of the living. He flew away shortly after this photo was taken and he now has a life to live.
54) Don’t Underestimate Her
As you can see, this kitty was timid and afraid at first. But all it took was love and grooming to bring her out of it. She didn’t have much of a bed before and now she has her own queen size bed.
55) First Day On The Job
This cat was adopted the night before this picture was taken. It looks like he’s enjoying his new home and has not a care in the world. Animals who sleep on their back feel safe and comfortable.
56) Lupita, Rat Hunter
Lupita survived off of rats she hunted on the streets. Now, she prefers to roam her home and chew on cords. Don’t worry, she’s still just a puppy, she’ll grow out of it. And if she doesn’t, she’ll still be loved.
57) Her Perfect Retirement Home
This cat was adopted at fourteen-years-old, which is actually pretty sad. But at least she can finally enjoy her soft bed and warm home, especially considering she’s blind. I hope they pamper her for the rest of her days.
