Cerebral palsy is a movement disorder that occurs in around 2 in every 1,000 births. It can lead to weak muscles, a lack of coordination, and general difficulty moving or speaking. People with cerebral palsy often need walkers or braces to help them walk around, just like 6-year-old Love.

In spite of the difficult challenges life has thrown her away, Love greets every day with a smile. She’s a friendly, cheerful little girl, and her mother, Lovely, couldn’t be prouder of her.

The pair live together, with the rest of their family, in Austin, TX, and Lovely often shares stories and updates about how Love is doing with friends and family on Facebook.

Recently, Lovely shared a very special video, showing Love bravely attempting to take a few steps without the aid of her walker, for the very first time!

Lovely has seen time and time again that when her daughter wants to do something, she won’t stop until she makes it happen. So she got her camera ready to capture this special moment, and the results are simply inspiring!

At first, we see Love leaning on a table for support as she gets ready to try and take those first few steps. As always, she’s smiling happily, excited about the prospect of walking without any assistance.

Moments later, she lets go of the furniture and goes for it! Immediately, from the expression on her face, we can see that Love is just as surprised as anyone else at her ability to walk.

Her eyes widen and her mouth opens in amazement as she steps over to the bed.

And she enjoys it so much that she promptly decides to turn right around and walk back across the room again, with her little brother following the whole way and laughing alongside his big sis.

Meanwhile, Lovely can be heard in the background saying “That is amazing!” as she watches her 6-year-old daughter truly walking without aid for the first time in her life. She shared the clip online, along with the caption:

Most of you know my daughter has cerebral palsy and needs her Walker to get around. She decided to get up and try walking without her walker and braces. My hero is not someone older than me it’s my 6 year old princess.

What an inspiring moment! Walking and simple movement are things that so many of us take for granted. We can easily forget that there are people out there who don’t have the same physical capacities.

For those people, like Love, taking just a few steps is a real miracle, and we can see exactly what it means to her by the smile on her face. It’s a wonderful moment and we’re so happy Lovely captured and shared it with the world! The video has already been viewed by tens of thousands of people worldwide, and you can see it too down below.
