Prom night is considered an important event, particularly to girls. It’s like an event that introduces them into adulthood where they get to dress up, have a date, and socialize with friends.
One of the most important parts of going to prom is the dressing up. Some students spend a long time thinking about what they are going to wear. Others even convince their parents to spend a fortune to get the best dresses in town.
These 55 teens, however, decided to go vintage by wearing their moms’ prom dresses. The results are stunning.
1. The prom dress from ’85
This 1985 prom dress got a really nice upgrade. Apart from the belt changed to red, the corsage was upgraded to an Apple Watch.
2. Gorgeous in black
This photo simply proves that black never goes out of style. Even though it has been 20 years since it was first worn, this dress still looks classy.

Red is another classic color when it comes to prom dresses so it wasn’t a surprise when this woman chose to wear her mom’s dress to prom. The surprising part is how they managed to look so good in the same dress.

She had always wanted to wear her mom’s dress for Senior prom. When the day came, she got exactly what she wanted. She also got to recreate her mom’s prom photo with her dad.

This green dress is vintage, classy, and timeless. It’s quite a treasure. It was passed from her grandmother to her aunt and down to her for her sorority formal. The family surely has good taste.

This mother couldn’t be any happier knowing that her daughter likes her style. This was the second time she got to wear her dresses from high school.

Peplum dresses were a hit back then. A few years later, it’s back and this lovely girl is rocking and enjoying her mom’s peplum dress.

There’s really nothing much to say about this dress other than it’s gorgeous. Clearly, these two ladies have a great taste when it comes to style. Not everyone can pull off wearing a dress in that color.

This woman chose to wear her mom’s dress to prom and it’s making her brother a bit emotional. Who wouldn’t feel that way? She looks really beautiful.

This lovely woman revamped her mom’s prom dress and it turned out really pretty. With a shorter skirt and less sleeves, it totally fitted her personality and physique. Mom’s quite happy about it, too.

This daughter decided to wear her mom’s prom dress. However, to make it fit her personality more, she decided to play with it and make a few changes. By putting tulle over the skirt, it made the dress look so much better. Of course, her mom rocked the original dress.

It’s hard to deny how this daughter looks a lot like her mom. At first glance, I actually thought that there’s just one woman in that photo. It’s no wonder why they like the same style.

This style and color work really well on these two ladies. Even if they wore it to two different events, I must say that they slayed in that dress. It must have been in the genes!

Mom wore this dress in her senior military ball in 1988. With zero alterations, her daughter wore it to her prom night and she clearly looked equally stunning.

Wearing your mom’s vintage dress isn’t just a good way to make her proud; it’s an excellent way to save money, too. Prom dresses, particularly the really nice ones from the big brands, aren’t cheap. Knowing that, this girl chose to go vintage on her prom night.
55. An heirloom prom dress
At first, the mother was skeptical about the idea of repurposing her old prom dress for her daughter. Seeing how great it turned out, she was eventually convinced that the money her own mother spent to buy her that dress was worth every penny. It was a really interesting story.
