In order to properly clean the water tank, pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the tank and let it sit for only a few minutes. Flush the toilet 2 – 3 times to wash out the vinegar. Remember, if the vinegar stays in there for too long, it could erode metal fixtures inside your tank.
