Golden Retrievers are some of the most adorable and loveable dogs around.
We can date the breed back to the 1800s in Scotland, where it was originally bred to be a sporting dog that would retrieve waterfowl during hunting trips.
Over the years, Goldens have retained their love of water and remain highly trainable, friendly, and eager to please.
And while they all share that beautiful golden coat, there are some subtle differences between British, Canadian, and American Golden Retrievers – but that doesn’t mean they’re not equally adorable.
Here are some reasons we think you should get one…or 5.
1. They are downright adorable

Seriously, have your friends or family ever managed to all look good in the same photo? Bonus: they can’t complain and make you take another anyway.
6. They line up well
You should never trust anyone who says they have a car full of puppies, so it’s best to stick to the Internet if you want to see it.

How does anyone manage walk out of the shelter without a crate of these? (Ok, these are Laborador Retreivers, but we’re just trying to keep you on your toes.)

We are just going to assume that these dogs are in a band and about to drop their first album. We’d buy it.

Sometimes you want to live it up but you’re just so tired. This pup feels your pain. He couldn’t even make it through his tunnel without a little snooze.
