Whether it be for joggling (juggling while jogging) like two-time Guinness record holder Owen Morse or the world’s largest shoe on display at the Red Wing Shoe Store in Red Wing, Minnesota, there is something for everyone in this fascinating book. Sir Hugh Beaver came up with the idea for the book and it was co-founded by twin brothers Norris and Ross McWhirter in London.

It All Started When She Got A Bad Haircut

But back to Nilanshi – she truly is a real-life Rapunzel. She now holds the Guinness World Record for longest hair on a teenager. Her locks measure 5 feet 7 inches long. It has taken her 10 years to grow out her hair and started after she said she got a bad haircut. We’ve all been there and all a person can really do is let the hair grow out. Nilanshi took this advice to the extreme and has been growing her hair since she was just 6-years-old.

Her Lucky Charm

As you can imagine, it takes quite a bit of time to maintain the length of this beautiful hair. It takes about 30 minutes to dry her hair and then another hour to get it all combed out. While she admits it is exhausting, she has no plans to get her hair cut any time in the future. She considers her hair to be her lucky charm.

When asked how she felt about being a new record holder she responded with,

I’m very excited. I’m very happy. It’s a big, big week for me

Nilanshi is featured in the Guinness World Records 2020 Edition along with so many others who push the boundaries of what we think is possible.

Mom Is Very Helpful

Not everyone can grow out their hair as long and thick as Nilanshi can who says she washes it once a week. Thankfully her mother is very supportive of her decision to grow her hair out as she helps with the brushing and care of it. Though it might be assumed that having this long of hair might cause her problems in her everyday tasks, Nilanshi assures she lives a very normal life (aside from the time it takes to care for her hair.)

Whenever she is going somewhere, wants to play sports, etc. she simply puts it up in a bun and goes about her business. With winning her latest award, perhaps she is right, her beautiful hair might be her lucky charm after all!
